Isskogelbahn — Attraction in Gerlos

Fine Quick lift, no long lines and allows acces to the slopes of gerlos. Few extra advantages: there is a depot right beneath the lift with qualified personel that also have knowledge and experience with tourskiing being able to give you advice for both on and off piste experiences. The pistes of the isskögel are wide and the trip towards the Village is better than the other lift, especially at the end of the Day. The worst of all ski resorts I visited in Zillertal. The whole area around Bergstation is turned into a giant kids playground, surrounded by gravel roads with passing trucks. Construction everywhere. Restaurants, cable cars, ski lifts etc.. You don't feel that you're in the mountains, more like a huge resort on a hill. The so-called "wanderweg" to Isskogel is 80% walking on a gravel road with a lovely view of construction sites. Complete waste of time and money in summer. Die Isskogelbahn ist eine Seilbahn, die von dem großen Parkplatz am Ortsausgang von Gerlos in Richtung Durlaß-Boden täglich die Urlauber, Einheimische und Naturliebhaber auf den Isskogel bringt. Toll ist, dass man Skier oder im Sommer Fahrräder mitnehmen kann und das aufmerksame Personal beim dann etwas schwierigerem Einstieg in die Gondel jederzeit gern behilflich ist.

Der Isskogel ist soetwas wie der "Hausberg" für Gerlos, weshalb sowohl von der Talststion als auch von der Bergstation zahlreiche Wanderrouten und Aktivitäten starten. Mit der Bahn kommt man nicht auf den Gipfel, sondern nur bis zum Bergplateau, von dem man aber bereits eine tolle Rundumsicht auf die Berge und benachbarte Täler genießen kann.

Direkt an der auf 1.899 m gelegenen Bergstation kann man in dem Arena-Restaurantbetrieb Speisen und Getränke genießen oder in den Sehenswürdigkeiten der Arena"FUN"ten Zeit verbringen. Mit Kindern müsst ihr die rd. 100 m lange Murmelbahn (Kugeln für 2 Euro in der Station; sind auch ein tolles Erinnerungsstück) probieren. Auch für die Eltern ein toller Zeitvertreib. Daneben kann man am selbstgeschaffenen Kleinsee Zeit verbringen und einfach die Seele baumeln lassen.

Demnach bietet die Isskogelbahn mehr als nur die Transportleistung im Sommer und Winter und stellt daher ein "must see" für Gerlos dar. Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.
