I visited the Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum today and it was surreal to step into the actual house where Arnold grew up. Driving through the quiet neighborhood, I kept thinking, "Wow! This is literally where young Arnold walked the streets, dreamed big, and started his journey to becoming the star he is today.
The museum itself is fascinating and full of history, with rooms dedicated to his bodybuilding, Hollywood, and political careers. That said, it could use a little TLC—some of the displays feel a bit low-budget and could be refreshed to match the larger-than-life story being told.
Still, if you’re an Arnold fan (or just love quirky, unique museums), it’s absolutely worth the trip. You’ll get a mix of nostalgia, inspiration, and some fun photo ops with memorabilia and statues. Plan on about 30–60 minutes to see everything. Not a massive destination, but a very cool, very personal glimpse into the origins of a...
Read moreI decided to go after watching the Arnold documentary on Netflix. Mind you, for such a trip the museum alone is not enough, but i fell in love with Thal, and Thalersee lake. We were there at fall, the colors of forests contrasting green pastures are unreal. The lake, which you can walk all the way around(some 20min) reflects the nature is such a beatifull and calm way. For hikers, bicycle lovers this is a dream come true. Museum is small as the house he lived in, there is a lot movie memorabilia, and a representation of his home at that time which remined me of my own home where my grandparents lived. Everyone knows what this man did but we tend to roll over it and not give it a lot of thought. To be able to do what he did takes a lot of determination and will. Im not his fan, i grew up on his movies as child, but i have the utmost respect for what this man has accomplished in his 76 years of life. Once...
Read moreTaking in consideration the location that's a bit away from the Graz and the day was sunny, we came by bicycles. It's in a hilly area so takes some effort to reach it. Place lacks visible signs leading to the museum. At the place, the staff was very friendly and polite. House has a nice yard but at the museum you can't buy any refreshments, coffee, not even water. All staff had to offer us was a tap water from a sink. Again, great thanks to the staff. Exhibit is nice and well sorted, but in the yard is also transformers exhibition with no relation whatsoever to Arnold Schwarzenegger. It looks really alien in the nice ambient of the Austrian countryside. Nearby next to the lake there's a great place to grab a beer and ice cream where we met one very nice waiter from North Macedonia that really saved the day with his...
