While the lower caravanserai was unfortunately closed, we had the opportunity to explore the architecture of the Upper Caravanserai. It was a sight to behold, reminiscent of the Silk Routes and transporting us back in time. The intricate designs and historical significance of the place left a lasting impression. Read moreA bit surreal that they had such good places for stay of travellers in ancient times. A three level stone structure with dozens of rooms around a central courtyard which has fountains. A robust wooden door which, in ancient times, was shut at night.
Now the second floor is used as a hotel (couldn't visit the rooms). There is a tea shop on the ground floor - wasn't very welcoming.
One can walk from the courtyard to a large garden with trees- quite pleasant.
Outside there are shops catering to tourists.
