When we arrived, it was raining heavily, which made it difficult to walk around the area — especially since we were with two elderly people who couldn’t manage the uphill paths or long distances. It also seems that the castle is currently under restoration, and the backyard area is being used for souvenir shops. Most of the other nearby places were closed as well. I recommend checking in advance whether the site is open or under renovation before visiting. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, we couldn’t explore the rest of Şəki, but hopefully next time we’ll plan better and check the weather first — definitely not...

You can capture pictures n all outside ,no pictures allowed in the palace, and you need to walk all the way up its bit difficult with kids better to viist sports activities next to there 10 mins driver And it is overcrowded place people who like to know about history or like architecture building The area itself is just OK, nothing special. Read moreOne of the few sights for tourists in Sheki. Large grounds with curio shops, resturants, cafes and green park spaces for the kids. Things start winding down towards sunset and its best to get there earlier in the day to see all the architecture etc.
Perhaps Shekis one redeeming feature for my family. The city in general has some ancient character but on a whole can be missed unless one has a local with deep knowledge of the history of the city etc. Downtown Sheki has a few resturants but youll struggle to find people who speak...
