$5 per person to enter Love Beach. $7 per person to have a beach chair, although I overheard the attendant charging a woman $20 for 4 of them. FREE - a rude woman who takes your payment upon walking in the business establishment - I told the lady three times I’m paying only for me and my brother two people… and she charges me for three… when I told her it’s only for two… she had an attitude and said I definitely said three. Whatever, lady, just give me the correct change and don’t be a butt.
I personally didn’t care for this place despite the reviews and despite the FREE amenities offered at the site:
Environment:
NO WATER SPORTS OFFERED NO LIVELY ACTIVITIES HERE but that’s great for ppl who want quiet
GOOD VIEW for pictures but it’s not super special.
I think taxi woman and business work partnership together or something because she kept insisting our group to come here. Honestly, trip wasn’t fun because of the taxi driver and interactions with the locals.
PICS OF WATER, SHORE, and ESTABLISHMENT included to help y’all...
Read moreGreat cheap alternative to excursions and over-priced taxis if you are adventurous and plan ahead. When we got off the boat and asked the taxi drivers to take 3 of us to Love Beach, we were quoted $150 round trip. Instead, we decided to walk to the jitney stop on the northwest corner of Frederick and Bay (about a 5-10 minute walk). The jitney costs $2 per person each way. I've been told that the #12 or #10 jitney goes there, but we ended up taking the #12b. Ask the jitney driver for Love Beach and they will get you on the right bus. It took us about 20 minutes before the jitney departed (it was a slow morning), but once we got going it took about 45 minutes to get to Love Beach, including the stops to pick up and drop off passengers. When we arrived, we came in through the Nirvana restaurant/bar, which charges $5 per person entry, but has WiFi, gear and chair rental (chairs behind the sea wall are free). The area was about half empty, even though there were 4 ships in port. Sadly, when we arrived, it was exactly in the middle of rising between low tide and high tide, making the snorkeling difficult and somewhat dangerous. That said, if you arrive closer to low tide (google "Love Beach tide chart"), it looks like the shore snorkeling is excellent. After some beach time, we took the jitney back to port (another 45-60 minutes back). If the tide conditions are better next time we go to Nassau, I would not hesitate to come back...
Read moreLove Beach is simply paradisiac. The water is very crystal clear and its sand is soft and powdery. There is a shallow, pond-like section perfect for the little ones. You will find several spots where you can get nice shade from under trees and bushes. Snorkeling isnt that great, and we only saw a few, small fishes along the rocks. If you don't want to pay the admission price going through Nirvana, you can access the beach through a short walking path to the left of Palm Shores Love Beach Walk. This takes you about 2½ minutes from the street to the sand. This entrance is less than a quarter mile east of Nirvana, so coming from downtown Nassau its before hitting Nirvana Bar. Once you get to the beach at the end of the trail you can stay and enjoy the gorgeous beach right there or go left to Nirvana. This again, should take you no more than a 2-3 minutes walk. The video I'm posting is the walk back from the beach to the street, so you get an idea of what to expect along the path. You can park your car across the street (facing east) right across Palm Shores security shack. You can even ask the guard and he'll point you in the right direction but its a very easy and short walk. If your using Google maps, you can input "Love Beach Walk" for a precise starting...
