Ambience: 5/5 Nice beach spot restaurant. The entrance and decor is lovely. One cannot see the edge of the water and the waves lapping from the outside seating area, but one can see Love Beach in the distance. The sun sets on the other side of the island so one cannot see it go in the water, but it is still a beautiful site. There is techno music being piped which will appeal to a younger crowd.

Management:5/5 Lashan the manager was absolutely lovely. She gave us suggestions and checked on us despite being busy. The other gentleman manager was very good.

Servers: 1/5 Right from the hostesses the entrance to the servers in the outside section, everyone lacked enthusiasm and care, we felt. No one, apart from the managers, would come and check on us. We would have to flag the server for placing order and everything else. One server took our menus away even before we placed our dinner order and we had to order from memory. One server cleaning tables kept dropping spoons and would not bother to pick them up. When she did it 3 times, the manager came up to pick the spoon. 15% gratuity is added to the bill, and when I did not add any additional tip, the server expressed his displeasure, despite not checking on us the entire evening.

Food: 3/5 We had the following Snapper ceviche - on the manager's recommendation we wanted to order the ceviche taco. But since we were ordering from memory ended up ordering just ceviche thinking they were the same thing. But they were not, which is our bad, but wish we had the menus to order from. The ceviche was more like sashimi and was good.

The grilled snapper - this was wonderful and really set in the island vibe.

The Solemar curry - this is a spicy dish, so those who cannot handle spice be warned. But the real problem of this dish is that it is cooked at 450F and is served at a very, very hot temperature. Think French onion soup that has scalded your tongue in the past, and then multiply that three fold. Each attempt of mine to blow and cool the curry and then eat it still resulted in scalding my tongue. Even after 20 mins, in which time my partner finished her fish, I had not made much headway into this dish. As I type this with burns all over my tongue, I am shocked that a restaurant will serve something this hot. Even if they have to cook this dish at that temp, they should let it wait in the kitchen to a more appropriate temperature before serving it. Order only if you have ceramic...

WOW. This place is truly a place of excellence and the atmosphere is elegant and chill. This is the type of experience I want to have when I go into a restaurant ! Everyone was patient, fun and so professional. Let’s start with my bartender/server.. Ronald. He gets 10 stars for his excellent work skills and attitude. My friends and I even got to know him better by conversation and he was absolute perfection! I can not believe the outstanding service I received from him. He was very personable and got my order correct and I LOVED THAT because he had three different orders and he surely remembered every last detail to the very smallest details and I appreciated that because when it’s about my food I’m very particular. All the food recommendations were excellent that he told me I should try also. Next up is Kyron he was very good at his job also. He was more in the back ground at first but once he opened up that guy was great too! The next person is TEVYN!! Girl thank you for stepping up where EDDIE couldn’t!! That song after the dinner was wonderful! I even had a dance party all on my own. I shoulda let you sing Beyoncé - Put a ring on it for that man of yours🤣🤣. Anyway you were awesome girl keep being you. Edward, you disappointed me at first with that song after dinner thing but you lucked out cause we still got our song and I’ll say your attitude was positive and professional also. Ray put the icing on the cake he was so sweet at the exit when we were leaving. I mean my goodness it was time to go and the place was shutting down and still all three of us was just sticking around for that conversation !! He was also a superb addition to your restaurant. The manager/boss I think his name was Greg.. sorry if I’m wrong I had no direct dealings with him however my friend did and he was so professional and sweet I couldn’t even believe it. A wonderful night with wonderful food and friends. A night to remember and this place is on my list to go to again! It was so fun I lost a ring 🤣 if you guys find a cross silver ring thats mine hold onto that please 🥴 I’ll be going back to spend my husbands money😃 Food recommendations (fish tacos, lamb chops and lobster Mac) make sure have mint jelly next time I...

A Taste of the Mediterranean in Nassau

Solemar, located in Nassau, Bahamas, is a culinary gem that effortlessly transports its guests to the sun-drenched shores of Greece. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant island vibe, bright colors, and soothing lounge music create an atmosphere that is both inviting and enchanting. It’s a place where every detail has been thoughtfully curated to deliver an immersive dining experience.

The food at Solemar is nothing short of exceptional. The menu is a celebration of fresh, flavorful dishes that showcase the best of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. During my visit, I sampled the snapper ceviche, fish tacos, Solemar rolls, lobster bites, and crab cakes—each dish was a masterpiece of taste and texture. The snapper ceviche was bright and zesty, while the lobster bites were rich and indulgent. The house sangria, with its robust flavor and subtle kick, was the perfect accompaniment to the meal. The only minor disappointment was the absence of beer on tap, despite it being listed on the menu—a small hiccup in an otherwise flawless experience.

Service at Solemar is exemplary. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to ensuring every guest feels well taken care of. They went out of their way to accommodate our baby stroller and promptly brought hot water for milk when requested. The manager was highly visible, making frequent rounds to check on diners and ensure everything was running smoothly. This level of attentiveness and care is a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to hospitality.

In summary, Solemar exceeds expectations in every way—food, service, and atmosphere. It’s a destination that not only satisfies the palate but also transports you to a Mediterranean paradise. Whether you’re a local or a visitor to Nassau, Solemar is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience. Highly...

Update we came here for dinner and it was absolutely beautiful. We sat at a high table in the window right above the ocean. The food was absolutely fantastic and incredible. The service was beyond excellent the only problem is there are people smoking cigars in the dining room. If people smoking 5 feet away from where you are eating is a problem go somewhere else. We chose this restaurant because it was situated right on the waterfront, far from the unpleasant exhaust and traffic of downtown. It had a very good rating and an intriguing menu. That’s just the beginning. To start, parking is conveniently located across the street and is free. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and the service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and impeccable. But the real star of the show is the food. The chef is truly remarkable, imaginative, and skilled in creating delicious dishes that are perfectly combined with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The food is served hot and bursting with bold, out-of-this-world flavors. There are so many wonderful choices. Happy hour offers some incredible small tapas meals at very reasonable prices. We couldn’t resist ordering multiple dishes and were blown away by everything we tasted. The views are simply stunning, and the air is clean and beautiful. We had an amazing time and will definitely be returning for more.
