I had the absolute pleasure of visiting this incredible location recently, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a fantastic experience! Nestled in a picturesque spot, this place offers a perfect combination of delightful drinks and scrumptious food, all served with a breathtaking ocean view that's simply mesmerizing.
The first thing that caught my eye was the pristine beach that stretched out before me. Not only can you indulge in some mouthwatering delicacies and refreshing beverages, but you can also take a dip in the crystal-clear waters or embark on a snorkeling adventure. For those who didn't bring their own gear, fret not, because they have top-notch snorkeling equipment available for rent. The convenience factor is off the charts!
And here's a wonderful tidbit to add: the icing on the cake is the free parking available, making your visit hassle-free from start to finish. You won't have to worry about finding a spot for your car, which is a rare and much-appreciated perk in many beachside destinations.
However, it's worth noting that there is a $5 cover charge for everyone, which is a small fee considering the fantastic experience you'll have here. It helps maintain the high quality of the amenities and services provided.
But that's not all; this hidden gem has a lot more to offer. If you're a fan of aviation or simply enjoy watching planes, you're in for a treat. This spot is not only a great place to enjoy ocean views but also a fantastic vantage point for observing planes coming in to land. The thrill of seeing these giant birds gracefully descend against the backdrop of the open sea is a unique and awe-inspiring experience.
Speaking of convenience, the provision of beach chairs was a thoughtful touch. It's a dream to kick back in one of those, sipping on a cool beverage while listening to the gentle lull of the waves. But what if you decide to take a plunge into the sea? Well, they've got you covered there too. They offer access to clean and well-maintained restrooms and fresh water showers, ensuring you can change and freshen up without a hitch.
Now, let me take a moment to highlight the exceptional staff. From the moment I stepped foot in this paradise, I was met with nothing but smiles and helpful gestures. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable. Their knowledge of the menu, their willingness to accommodate special requests, and their overall friendliness made our visit that much more enjoyable.
Ultimately, this spot is a hidden treasure along the coast, offering more than just a place to dine and drink. It's a complete experience, from the stunning ocean views to the opportunities for aquatic adventures, and the exceptional customer service. The only caveat is the accessibility factor with the stairs, but if that's not an issue for you, I can't recommend this place enough. Plus, the added bonus of free parking and the opportunity to watch planes land truly make it a hassle-free and unique destination. Don't forget about the $5 cover charge, a small price to pay for such an...
Read moreMy experience at the Nirvana Beach Bar is a tale of two stories. Rating the establishment itself, I'm leaning towards a 2 out of 5 stars, but the beach it grants access to deserves a full 5 out of 5 stars.
The Establishment:
Upon arrival, the welcome was lukewarm at best. The attendant collecting the entrance fee, while not outwardly rude, lacked the warmth you'd expect in such a tourist-friendly locale. The $5 per person access fee is reasonable for Nassau, especially given the pristine condition of the beach beyond. However, the amenities left much to be desired. The restrooms were muggy, had an unpleasant odor, and felt unclean, despite being functional. The bar boasts stunning views but feels somewhat bare, and while the spotty WiFi is understandable for beachside relaxation, it's worth noting for those who might need it. Cash is a necessity here, as payment systems falter with the internet connectivity. Beverage prices were as expected, with beers at $5-$6 and mixed drinks from $10-$15. The food was decent but unremarkable, and service can best be described as leisurely.
A word of caution: I discovered roofing nails in the sand near the outdoor shower area. I recommend footwear at all times in the sand for safety. The shower facility, while basic and only partially enclosed, is a convenient feature for beachgoers.
The Beach:
Now, for the beach itself - it's absolutely stunning. Despite being a public beach, access seemed exclusive via the Nirvana Bar, which offers ample free parking. The minimal $5 entry fee is a small price for such secluded beauty. The lack of tourists and sparse crowd made for a serene experience, with moments where it felt like our private paradise. The crystal-clear waters and calm waves were perfect for snorkeling or a leisurely swim. There are no lifeguards, so activities are at one's own risk. The beach's length is ideal for a 30-45 minute stroll, offering a peaceful escape.
Despite the shortcomings of the Nirvana Beach Bar, the unmatched beauty of the beach and the convenience of on-site amenities mean we will definitely return. The allure of tranquility and natural beauty far outweighs the...
Read moreFor this particular review, I'm going to write specifically about the access to Love Beach via Nirvana Beach Bar.
Having read the previous reviews, I was prepared to pay $5 per person for my fiancé & I. What I think people don't realize is that you are not actually paying Nirvana to access to a public beach... you are paying Nirvana to access a public beach through NIRVANA'S PROPERTY. You are free to hike up and down the street to find another access point to Love Beach, and not pay anything - from what I've heard, there are indeed other access points. To my mind, however, Nirvana is located on a fantastic spot on the beach, offers fresh water showers, and clean rest rooms (certainly not upscale, but clean) -all for $5 !!! And if you don't want to pay the $5, I'm pretty sure you're peeing in the ocean...don't do it. Considering we paid $50 each way for a taxi ride between Margaritaville and Love beach, $5 per person is nothing.
The lady who greets you at the entrance is Christine. She was nice enough to us, but your own mileage may vary. Christine gave us a little orientation of the property, and we proceeded directly to the beach.
TIP: When you get onto the beach... West of Nirvana features more shady spots if you need it, East of Nirvana features better snorkeling opportunities and (for lack of a better term) a little tide pool with very calm, crystal clear water which is great for kids - if they're with you.
As for the wifi, I can only say, that we never used it. The beach was so beautiful that we weren't on our phones other than to take pictures.
We didn't eat anything because we weren't hungry, but the beers were cold and that was good enough for us.
The last thing that I would like to mention is that prior to my visit to ANYWHERE, I make it a point to read the reviews...there's always gems of useful info when you read the details. It is my opinion that the people who are writing negative reviews did not read any of the reviews of Nirvana themselves. If they had indeed read the reviews, they would have had a better understanding of Nirvana's operation before...
