While the fact that Disney has their own island is impressive, it could be better. I've been here three times on different Disney cruises, so I'm pretty familiar with what they've got. It's basically a giant lagoon that the ship pulls into. While there's an enormous potential to make it 5 star, there seems to be little imagination put behind it. They've got just about everything the other excursions to beaches have, but nothing is really outstanding. And if you want to do something beyond standard beach activities, for example go fishing, jet skiing or parasailing, then it has to be reserved ahead of time and pay a lot extra - top dollar prices. Then the experience is going to be very limited and sort of simplified down because it has to appeal to a wide range of people. Our glassbottom boat excursion was cancelled on account of "rough weather" when there was hardly a breeze and the slighest chop. That was disappointing. There was no compensation other than a refund, which was also disappointing. Disney is good at making hoops their guests need to jump through but seems to be having a tough time to get their own staff on board. My recommendation is, when the ship docks here for the day, is to stay on the ship and take advantage of it being mostly empty. There was zero wait for the Aquaduck for most of the day while the rest of the guests were on the island. Plus the food at the Cabanas on board is 10x better than the selection on the island's lunch, which is very basic. Disney should have more pirate lore and fun games that can be played on the island, similar to the detective activity they have around the ship for kids. They could do a whole self-sustaining science walk around the facilities, and show off some cool technology like they do in The Land in Epcot. It's shocking that so many cool things they could do there are totally un-imagined. After you've been there already it's quite boring and on the lower end of the Disney experiences, in a...
Read moreWhat's not to love about a private island in the Bahamas, in march?(Im from Montreal🥶❄️🥶) Disney's Castaway Cay is a small island in the Bahamas and only serves one cruise ship at a time. Which i find kinda sad they can easily make it for 2 ship at once and the island would be more populated and not look dead at certain places anyhow would be fun to see. Visiting CC on the DREAMMM was really really fun. Disney provides lunch via it's BBQ based buffet called Cookies 1 and 2, but Adults have their own buffet BBQ at the Adults only beach, Serenity Bay. This time i tried the fishing port adventure and i didnt regret a single bit, we were supposed to be 4 in the little trip (Super private and fun) but the 4th one didnt show up so we got the boat for ourself that was very fun. We went on papi's boat and we tried to catch fish while the boat was on full speed a new thing for me. but the fish werent hungry and they were lazy that day but thats no problem for papi and his crew cause we change fishing method to a still one and then i caught 5 fishes in 20 minutes. my dad caught 2 and my sister caught 1 and didnt have much luck after but papi would trade his rode with her when he felt someone was on and then she got more fishes than me lol. All and all IT WAS VERY VERY FUN. If ur a GIRLYYYY dont worry u dont touch anything they take care of everything and u can get ur insta pic no problem. only the boat goes fast and u can get tiny drops of water coming up but thats expected. WE HAD A GREAT TIME WITH THIS PORT ADVENTURE AND RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE. They made this last day of cruise Magical. Thank you FISHING CREW and especially papi

Read moreDisney’s Private island getaway. Castaway Cay is one of Disney’s private cruise line islands in the Bahamas. Many guests look forward to it as a highlight of their trip. The moment you step off the ship, you’re greeted by turquoise waters, palm trees, and a layout designed for both relaxation and fun. The island is very walkable, but a tram service makes it easy to get from the ship to the family beaches to include the kid beaches like Pelican Beach and, Scuttle’s Cove, and Serenity Bay, the adults-only portion. The family beach are walking distance from the ship and have plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The water at all beaches is mostly shallow and are in protected coves so often have calm water making it safe for kids to splash around. For those looking for more adventure, Castaway Cay offers snorkeling with sunken Disney “treasures,” biking paths, stingray encounters, and water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding along with excursions for parasailing and glass bottom boat tours. . Food is included, with multiple BBQ spots serving up burgers, chicken, ribs, and ice cream, so you can grab a meal without leaving the beach, no matter which beach you visit. What sets Castaway Cay apart is how clean, organized, and well-staffed it is. Cast members keep everything running smoothly and bring that extra Disney touch of service and friendliness. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of island paradise and Disney magic that makes the day truly...
