Marassi Beach was once heralded as one of the crown jewels of Bahrain's coastal attractions, drawing in visitors with its pristine sands, clear waters, and picturesque setting. However, over time, this once-shining gem has sadly lost much of its charm and appeal, leaving much to be desired for those seeking a truly memorable beach experience.
The primary issue plaguing Marassi Beach is the evident lack of proper maintenance and attention to cleanliness. The once-immaculate sands are now littered with debris, and the water quality appears to have deteriorated, casting doubt on the overall safety and enjoyment of the beach. This lack of upkeep not only detracts from the aesthetic appeal but also raises concerns about the overall experience and value proposition for visitors.
Adding to the disappointment is the sense that Marassi Beach has become a somewhat limited and overpriced offering. The range of amenities and facilities available to beachgoers is relatively narrow, with a distinct absence of the diverse experiences and entertainment options that one would expect from a premier beach destination. The pricing structure, too, seems out of sync with the diminished quality of the overall experience, leaving many visitors feeling that they are not getting their money's worth.
Furthermore, the overall atmosphere and ambiance of Marassi Beach have taken a noticeable turn for the worse. The once-lively and vibrant environment has given way to a sense of neglect and indifference, with a lack of attention to the details that once made this beach a standout attraction. The result is a feeling of disappointment and a missed opportunity to showcase Bahrain's natural coastal beauty.
It is worth noting that Marassi Beach still retains a glimmer of its former glory, with pockets of well-maintained areas and glimpses of the stunning natural scenery that initially drew visitors to this destination. However, these positive aspects are often overshadowed by the more pervasive issues of poor upkeep, limited amenities, and an overall sense of decline.
In summary, Marassi Beach, once a shining gem at the forefront of Bahrain's beaches, has sadly lost much of its charm and appeal over time. The evident lack of maintenance, cleanliness, and a well-rounded experience leaves much to be desired, leading to a sense of disappointment and a missed opportunity to showcase the true potential of this coastal destination. While Marassi Beach still has the capacity to reclaim its former glory, significant investments and a renewed commitment to quality and customer experience will be necessary to revive this...
Read moreHad a VERY fun and relaxing time. Exceeded our expectation and the price is great compared to other hotel beaches. Short Uber ride there from Amwaj.
Beach is surprisingly cool on a 36C/96F day due to the breeze over the water.
Beach had an eclectic mix of small bikinis to fully covered women on the beach and in the water. Very easy and relaxed feel of everyone getting along together.
Beach umbrellas/chairs were free with padded chairs or bean bags as your options. Bathrooms and showers are nearby. At least one giant swingset is near the jetski
Jet ski staff were great (have to stay within 500 meters, but it was a blast; the dhaows come back in from fishing around 5 and made some great wakes to play around). Kids want to go on the banana boat next time. Saw other people enjoying the giant paddleboats. Great selection at decent prices. They require to hold your passport/CPR while you go ride so be sure to bring them. They also have a store at the water activity area that sells mask/snorkels, goggles, floaties, hats, flip flops, etc.
Burger Zone burgers and fries were actually REALLY good. Whole family was happy. Jasmi's Coffee baked goods were amazing according to my kids. Great prices.
Whole beach is free after 5PM, but the water is closed to swimming after 6. Restaurants are only open starting at 6PM during Ramadan. Just know that ahead of time.
Wish we would have tried this beach earlier on our trip or we'd have come back...

We have asked around first from other people as to which beach to spend a day in. Majority of those people suggested to go to Marassi Beach.
On your way to the beach, you will be mesmerized with the sceneries along the road. As you will see a lovely turquoise colored beach.
A good parking space is available just 5-minute walk to the shoreline. An entrance fee of 5BD (as far as i can remember) was collected upon entrance.
During our visit, there is an ongoing construction of commercial spaces, which will give the beach-goers in the future a chance to indulge to some great food while enjoying a great beach.
Marassi beach will definitely give you an instant holiday mode 🌊.
Activities such as banana boat riding, kayaking, boat paddling and of course-jetskiing are available for you to enjoy.
One thing though, the sand base of the beach is rocky and slimy. Im not so sure though with the other nearby beach front hotels if situations are the same since the hotels attached to it are at a high end level and we are prohibited to cross its boundaries.
Overall, definitely not bad, considering the view of Bahrain coastline you will get, moments soaking under the sun and the rush of the seawater on your skin will definitely make your stay worth it.
*The photos and videos i took didn't give justice to Marassi's...
