This happened on Good Friday, which they celebrate & have a carnival. It's very loud there, loud music & feeling rushed to pay. Our gentleman in a purple shirt maybe mid 50's didn't give us a bill just an amount. I gave him the money & tip. $90 for a Coke, 3 beers, mahi mahi & swordfish dinners each $35. He knew I gave $35. He knew I gave him American money & wasn't honest to say I only owed $42.50. On our way home to our hotel it suddenly hit me, I should've only gave him half that amount with $85+ tip. Unfortunately the taxi ride back would cost that much to go back & who knows if he'd admit it anyways. It's our fault I guess for not paying closer attention, should have asked for a receipt like all other tables were getting that we observed. We were having a good time the whole evening until we got back to our resort and realized we got duped. Food was very good however this experience left a bad taste in our mouth so non-locals beware. Update- The owner replied as you can all see to this post and via chat was able to refund our money that we overpaid and took some steps to make sure this doesn't happen to another customer. Thank you again Cynthia and Jean, very much appreciated.

The place was very busy when we sat down with about 40 customers. First round of drinks came quite quickly and ordered food. Over the next 1hr 20 minutes people who arrived after us received their meals and at least 40 take aways were served. We asked several times and told our meal was coming. Eventually after 1 hour 10 minutes 2 meals arrived and the other 2 meals 10 minutes later. The food was delicious though. Odd to eat off crockery with plastic cutlery. Prices are the same throughout the market so worth trying other operations. $167 Barbados for 4 with 2 rounds of drinks so about £80 or $80 US (see photo). Have a look around before committing.

The food was good. I know they have a long line because it's popular, but their setup is not good on a busy Friday-- at least when I was there. Two hour wait and all the vendors around basically have the same dishes and are cooking it the same way. Even those who had VIP tables with servers weren't getting their food. I saw staff arguing with one another (due to the slowness); it wasn't the best experience as a tourist. The fish fry was fun, I would choose another vendor if I visit the island again. I had the Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) because they ran out of salmon, flying fish and red snapper by the time I got to front of line.

Staff are extremely rude. They don't even acknowledge you when you're standing in line and they don't even come to your table to take your order. The system for processing orders is really weird they write everything down in a Notebook and as the cook complete it they check it off. First time I came here the food was really good second time was mediocre that's why I was willing to deal with the long wait because I thought it was going to be good again but I guess you got to know which cook is there that day. They need to hire some new people here and train them how to treat customers and take orders.

We were recommended this place by our receptionist and a bus driver Sam that took us to Fish Net. The staff are most accomodating as we came in a big group and they immediately found a big table for us. We ordered one of each fish of the day , it took about 20-30minutes to prepare but oh man it was worth the wait. Fresh fish with delicious sides , the seasoning and flame grilling gives it taste you won't forget In a hot while. Will definitely be coming back , thanks Uncle George for having us ( BA crew )

The most memorable meal in Barbados has to be at Uncle George's. Authentic Bajan cuisine and packed with flavor. Recommended by a local and definitely a place not to be missed - wish we could've gone back once more before leaving. The portion is quite generous and everything is filling. But let's talk about how flavourful the food was. I loved every bite. The fish was cooked just right, the macaroni pie was great as well and the baked potato was so soft. Can't wait to come back here!
