Surprisingly large park area with calmer treelined corners as well as a more popular central swimming pond area catering to older children and adults. Ideal for families with young children is the toddler pond nearby. Both ponds have large clean sandy beaches. The wooded area away from the pond has a second large children's playground. Nice extra: wooden little gnome houses are hidden here and there between the trees to entertain children during a relaxing stroll. Entire area also excellent for running and cycling. Cafeteria at swimming pond has a decent menu and food quality. Nice eating and lounge area. Clean toilets. Wheelchair accessible. Lounge music was nice and not too loud so a very relaxing experience. Large car parking comes cheap at only €3.5 for a day....

Beautiful little spot which is really not that far from the centre of Ghent. We only discovered it from searching online and it seems like this is a hidden gem. We cycled out from our accomodation, which took about 20 minutes and there was plenty of space near the lake to sunbathe and go for a quick swim (the water is pretty cold, even in summer). I would imagine it gets pretty busy at the weekends but it is a fantastic place to check out if you're in Ghent...

This place is great. So calm. Coming now from a beach girl from the u.s. I loved the views of people just relaxing on the grassy park side of the lake, of ducks swimming. Of the water slide and water jungle gyms. The restaurant had decent food. The bathroom lines are short. Signs are a little confusing also not in English. Be prepared to translate. Free for locals. Non locals must pay 6 euros which is completely worth it. Parking is also...

After trying to catch fish in a few different Across Gent, we decided to go to this park. After walking around the entire lake we caught at least seven fish all on artificial baits. The spark is very Fishing friendly because throughout the entire lake, they have tiny docks to stand on, which was the first time I’ve ever seen this. I highly recommend this park if you would like to catch perch or pike.

It is an amazing place ..we just keep walking to be inside of this park .. it has two parts one is puplic for every body to swim and play and the other one to stay alone to relax or to read some books with a view and there is a place for the kids to play
