Online boarding passes are not accepted. Be sure to get your boarding passes printed at the check-in counter!! Highly recommended to come to the airport early to join the queues in 4 areas: check-in counter, boarding pass scan, security check and passport control.
While the airport looks clean and modern, the check-in procedures are shockingly outdated. As of August 2023, online boarding passes are not accepted and there is no indication of this before the security check. I spent about 15 minutes queuing up to scan my boarding pass only to be told that I had to go back down to the check-in counter, to an even longer queue with others waiting to check in their baggage. Although there were 3 check-in counters, the queue was moving extremely slowly. The information at the check-in counter was also incorrect as the counter staff said we needed a visa, which we did not as we were not staying longer than 90 days. Thankfully, she let us through despite the misinformation from her database.
Also, there is another queue before security check, where a staff will scan your physical boarding pass, check your passport AND LUGGAGE! All cabin luggage (except backpacks) are weighed regardless of your airline and it must not exceed the regulated weight. Fortunately, the queues for the boarding pass scan, security check and passport control was not as long on my second time round. It took slightly more than an hour to pass through all the queues and checks, and it really helps that all the gates are nearby if you're in a rush!
Despite the lack of available information on Google on the public transportation to the airport and within Sarajevo, I found some really helpful information on TripAdvisor on public transportation to the airport (Centrotrans airport express for 5BAM OR trolley bus 103 for 1.8BAM). While the route is not on Google, it seems to be available on other apps like Moovitapp. Successfully took the first trolley bus at 5.40am, and reached the airport at 6.20am after a 20 minutes walk on a well-paved path with great scenery! However the trolley bus driver did not seem to understand English so we didn't know if we were alighting at the closest stop to the airport (it seems like it should only be a 10mins walk from the closest...
Read moreONE STAR REVIEW: 8.5. As I approached the check-in counter at the airport, I initially received a warm welcome from the blond lady attending to passengers. However, as soon as I handed over my Serbian passport, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. Suddenly, she began to argue and insisted on charging me extra for luggage that was clearly included in the price of my ticket. Her attitude quickly turned hostile, and it became evident that she was discriminating against me based on my nationality. It was a deeply upsetting and infuriating experience, especially when she threatened to decline my check-in request altogether. This blatant discrimination and attempt to overcharge me for included services is unacceptable. No traveler should be subjected to such treatment, especially not at an airport where professionalism and fairness should prevail. I implore the airport management to investigate this incident thoroughly and take appropriate action to prevent such behavior from occurring in the future. Discrimination has no place in any environment, least of all in a service industry as vital as an airport. This experience has left me feeling not only saddened but also outraged at the injustice of being mistreated simply because of my nationality. I sincerely hope that steps are taken to ensure that all travelers are treated with the respect and fairness...

Swindling and price differences for tourists vs locals begins as soon as you go through passport check. In the main lobby if you need a SIM card ask for the 5KM Start Packet which is for locals has a 1GB until you recharge anywhere. Do not buy anything that says Tourist on it, I've just watched a lady yesterday sell to a Arab guy who was staying for a day and needed a 1GB and already had a Ultra SIM, she sold him the cheapest Tourist package which was 20KM that lasts 10 Days and has 15GB, who can use up all that bandwidth in 10 days anyway, plus you can buy a subscription for a month for that much money.
Second trap outside is the double priced taxi cabs, which I learned the hard way, but these are the same price for everyone only double what the market usually is. I should have called the regular taxi I use 033-760-600 they charge by the mile and have a meter and price showing as you go.
Anywhere else you go there might be a menu for tickets in English and Bosnian, the menu in English is sometimes more expensive.
If you don't mind throwing money away disregard this review and welcome and enjoy your stay.
