Olympic Golf Course — Attraction in Região Geográfica Imediata do Rio de Janeiro

For those coming from abroad to enjoy and play the Olympic golf course (OGC), the most important thing is that the course is in pristine conditions (It has not gotten worse since the Olympics) and very well maintained, with greens rolling perfectly. The good points: fair practice area with: great driving range; large putting green; and one small green with two flag positions to hit approach shots. The facilities are all well kept as well, with clean and modern bathrooms, lockers and good clubs+carry bag for rental (I used one of the available sets from Bridgestone: forged irons (4-PW) and wedges (52, 58 and 60), plus driver (10.5°), 3w (13.5°), 3H and mallet putter - irons and woods in stiff flex). In summary, it is totally worth playing the golf course! I really enjoyed it! But, be aware of the difficulties you might find: 1st) on the way to the complex, out on the street, by car, there is no sign indicating the OGC direction(s). Not even in the near area. So, use your smartphone to get the exact address to go there, because pretty much no taxi driver knows how to exactly drive down there if you simply ask them to take you to the OGC. 2nd) inside the complex you won't find no signs showing the way to the administration, where you're going to pay for the green fee and everything else. But, once you find the administration's desk, all staff is really nice and polite, despite a tiny lack of proactivity to tell you how things work if you don't remember to ask them. Conditions: Despite recent reports, the course was in great shape. The course is not well marked; however, a GPS app on my phone mitigated that problem. Cost: It was about $180 (USD) all-in (greens fees, cart, and rental clubs). Clubhouse: Pro Shop, Locker Room, and Cafe Course: Very interesting layout with amazing views.
