This is a must-visit for all visitors coming to Brunei! The food is remarkably delicious and cheap, the atmosphere and energy is really something to experience, and the merchants are very friendly - especially towards tourists, since this market is absolutely not a "tourist market", this is a real night market that is a true gem of Brunei culture.

Throughout its 2 main open-air rows of shops, you can find a variety of food and drinks, including local fruits like durians, tarap, and cempedak, local drinks like teh tarik, ABC, and local sodas, and of course local foods, ranging from Malay to Japanese, Korean, and Chinese influenced dishes, as well as some you can only get in Brunei (do your research ahead of time to find the local dishes and see if you can get them here, you probably can!). The meals range from "roti john" to satay to nasi lemak to mie goreng to all sorts of fried fish and other meats, and with so much variety I even recommend coming back here on multiple nights if you get the chance. I doubt there is a tastier, cheaper, and more authentic place to get dinner anywhere else in town than here at the night market.

Final notes: there is lots of parking, lots of hand wash stations, and mostly ample seating. The market is not walled so the temperature is actually quite...

Instragram Value : Alot of the food are presented nicely and theyre very much instagrammable. Alot of tourist from Korea would come and pay a visit and try out the local food.

Food : So many choices of food, primarily authentic malay food that are either fried, grilled or barbeque. Malay food made of snacks, full meals, different type of drinks from juice to bubble tea. I highly recommend trying our all grilled burgers, kebabs and satay urat/lemak. Burgers range from $3 to $5, you can get 3 kebabs for $5 and satay are 3 sticks for $1.

Venue : Near the heart of Gadong. Very clean and properly maintained. However, very smokey due to the live cooking, grilling and bbq. There are tables for anyone to sit and eat together. The market is roofed so theres no worry of rain or sun. Alot of parking spaces available all around the market and its close by Gadong Mall, which is easily accessible on foot. For those who stays at Rizqun Hotel, dont hesitate to walk out and reach the market under 5 minutes.

Price : With BND 10 you can feed a whole family. Alot of the food ranges from $1 to $3. Canned drinks are $1 and fresh juices are $3 to $4. Eating here is...

If you have travelled through a lot of Asia, this is not like a night market you will find in Thailand, Taiwan or Korea for example. This is the biggest night market in Brunei but with Brunei being such a small country, the market was tiny in comparison to other night markets I have visited in Asia. It was however a lovely experience. Very clean. Peaceful and nobody was shouting or enticing you to purchase something from their stall. You can walk around peacefully. Super cheap. A good place to try some local delicacies. Have cash and small change to hand. Vendors are super friendly. I got some fresh mango and tried a few different snacks. There is a seating area which was also clean. I joined the locals there and had a nice dinner made up of various things I had bought whilst walking around the market! You will need to call a taxi or book a Dart ride when you have finished. I don't think you can get there by public transport. I was the only foreigner there, a solo female traveller but nobody interfered with me. Very safe. I went around 20:00 on a Sunday evening. Busy. Don't go too late as they close early. 19:00 to 20:00 is...

Brunei's crown jewel for foodies, Gadong Night Market, is a must-visit for any traveler. This vibrant market explodes with sights, smells, and flavors, offering a true taste of Brunei. The star of the show is undoubtedly the food. Stalls brimming with colorful satays, sizzling marinated meats, and steaming bowls of noodles will have your mouth watering. Be sure to try the national dish, Nasi Katok, a pocket of fragrant rice with fried chicken and sambal for just $1! Gadong Night Market isn't just about food. Explore stalls overflowing with fresh tropical fruits, grab a refreshing drink to combat the heat, or browse handmade souvenirs. The friendly vendors are happy to answer questions and guide you through the culinary adventure. While the market is clean and well-organized, keep in mind it gets busy. Aim for an early dinner (before 8 pm) to ensure the widest variety. Bring cash as most vendors won't accept cards. For a truly immersive Bruneian experience, look no further than Gadong Night Market. It's a feast for the senses and a budget-friendly way to savor the country's unique flavors.
