House Museum Of Nikola Vaptsarov — Attraction in Bansko

I really had high expectations about this museum but they weren't fullfilled. If a person who doesn't have a clue who Nikola Jonkov Vapcarov is and enters this museum, he or she will leave knowing not much. Just a poet who graduated as Mechanical engineer and published a book "Motorni pesni" and was killed by the fascists during WW2.

Nikola Jonkov Vapcarov was more than just a poet, but that was not presented in the museum.

My advices/proposals/questions for the director of the exhibition: Why the covers of the books on the pictures in my review are part of the exhibition when they have more to do with Neofit Rilski than Nikola Jonkov Vapcarov? Why the book "Antology" is not part of the exhibition? It was published posthumously. Also, his children book "Spring". Nothing about his activities during his lifetime, his motivations to become Marxist. Would be educational if we see it in chronological order what he did and wrote. The photos on the wall of his life were just thrown with no descriptions. No translation in English for foreign speaking visitors to understand the life and work of Nikola Jonkov Vapcarov.

As a comparison, Kafka Museum in Prague has light, video and sound installation where visitors can even listen to correspondence from Kafka to family, friends, relatives.

No letters from Vapcarov were tiped and published, so we read or listen to them. I didn't feel I really understood who he was and why is he so important by visiting...

I didn’t think it lived up to expectations. I share the previous comment about once you go in as a tourist, you are basically going to go out with 5% knowledge about him. Light is low, another wasn’t working(the entire part with the mountain in the entrance).
