This is not a hotel, this is a guest house ! is a small building with tiny house doors, and maximum 2 stars quality ! The pictures are fake, photosoped and missleading, the guest house is not right in front of the mountains, the twin rooms don't have cabin showers, dressing (only a small clothes cabinet), fridge, and they are occupied 70% by the bed. The access to the ski zone is not easy, without car and GPS is almost impossible to reach, as the guest house is located on a narrow street without ski zone leading signs ! Very rude, heartless, unprofessional and inflexible guests ! I made a reservation for two rooms, four people, paid 118 euro in advance for two rooms / two nights, but my friends didn't succed to arrive, they had some problems with the car, I explained in detail that fact to the guests and asked for a refund as we will going to stay in only one room !, they said it's not possible, and gave us a small, old furniture, without balcony room, of course we said we are not satisfied... and we want a bigger room, because we paid for two rooms, they said they are all booked, and we asked for the room of our friends, of course our friends room were slightly bigger, with balcony, better view and position, so the guests were trying to fool us, giving us the smaller room and they probably wanted to re-rent our friends free room ! They didn't offer us something in return for paying two rooms and staying in one - not even a meal or something, they actually enjoyed the fact that our friends couldn't arrive, extremely rude ! The guest house have no parking spots ! you park your car on the street and risk for a ticket, there are "forbiden park" sings everywhere, the police can also pick-up your car, be careful ! Our rooms had no cabin shower or dressing !, a small room, occupied 70% by the bed, no fridge, small bathroom Do not pay in advance, you can't...
Read moreVisited Hotel Rothmans on a B&B basis during the Jazz festival in August 2016.||||Pros: Clean budget hotel. Conveniently located - 5 min walk to Nikola Vaptsarov Square where the event was being held. Breakfast - continental, with delicious fruit and vegetables. The French toast tasted great, it is a must have. There is a choice of cereals although you have to ask for cold milk. The room was clean and tidy, with a cosy little balcony and a mountain view. It was unbelievably quiet, you would not have the man made big city noise. The bed was big and incredibly comfortable, mattress not too hard, not too soft, just my preference. Staff were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive or nosy. Wi fi was working well, good speed. The hotel has a restaurant - I chose to eat out in town so cannot say much about that. ||||Cons: the bathroom was actually a wet room, which is the normal Bulgarian standard. This is a bit inconvenient as I ended up with wet bathroom floor after each shower but nothing major. My towels were not changed even once during my five day stay - I think I should have asked but I really shouldn't have to.||||Altogether, good value for money. Because of the cleanliness of the room, the quality of sleep and very good breakfast, I would say I...
Read moreWe spent a week at this hotel whilst skiing in Bansko. It is set down in the old town rather than up in the ski resport. Our room was clean, warm, spacious and comfortable - it had a sleeping area, small lounge with fridge and balcony and an en suite bathroom. (Free wifi, of course). The breakfasts were great - mixture of cooked things (scrambled egg, traditional bacon) and cold dishes (Cheese, ham, tomatoes etc) and cakes plus usual toast/cereal/juice/fruit etc. Buffet style meant that you could help yourself. It seems to be a family run hotel and the staff were very friendly.||The hotel had a small bar but we spent most evenings out and about in the old town.||For skiing, they had a locker room. It was in the old town so you need to get transport up to the gondola. We had a car, but there are other ways to do it. The hotel will I'm sure advise.||Its very close to the town square and the old town with its lovely lanes, bars and restaurants and only 20 mins walk if you want to walk up to the ski resort part of Bansko. We had no problem getting anywhere we wanted in the evenings on foot. If you stay here, you should hunt out some of the traditional bars and restaurants in the old town - great food, great atmosphere, great value and everyone is...
