Храмът е в центъра на града, построен е в периода 1833 – 1835 г. Средствата за изграждането му са събрани от местното население. Просторна е църквата с дължина от 44 метра, ширина от 24 метра и височина на свода от 20 метра. Зидове са с над метър дебелина, а 12 колони поддържат покрива. В строителството и участват много майстори, както и хора от местното население с доброволен труд. През 1850 година в двора е издигната и висока 30 метра камбанария, служеща и като часовникова кула. Неин майстор е Глигор Благов Доюв, племенник на основния строител на църквата Димитър Доюв, името му е изписано на кулата. През 1855 година братята Велеганови изливат 4 камбани за нея. Часовникът, който и до днес отмерва точно времето, е дело на известния бански майстор Тодор Хаджи Радонов. Църквата е обградена с високи стени, дворът е зелен, чист, с кипариси и пъстри цветя, има три входа, а над главния е изографисана иконата на Света Троица, а малко в страни от нея могат да се видят турските полумесеци, които са спасили храма от разрушаване - има легенда за това. Интериорът в храма е впечатляващ. Таванът на храма е изрисуван като звездно небе с блещукащи звезди и ангели сред тях, той е дело на художник от Дебърската художествена школа.
