It’s an interesting small museum which can be covered when you enter in 5-10mins. You can buy products including salt for 3€ . To pay ,you need cash.

An interesting note if you scan the QR code on the wall before entering the museum : The Museum of Salt in Pomorie was opened on September 7, 2002. It was created with the financial support of the European Union through the program "Far" In implementation of the projects "Everything ¡salt /ALAS/" 2001-2002. and Development of the Salt Museum Pomorie as a completed object and cultural tourism" 2004-2005. The museum in Pomorie is the only museum in Bulgaria and in Eastern Europe specialized in the production of salt by solar evaporation of water.

1 star minus due to the rudeness of the old man that sells the salt and other products in the museum . We don’t know how effective the product we bought is but the salt was good and we are still trying the cream.

There’s a small parking space or you can park a little away...

The museum is tiny inside, in fact it's one room half full with chairs to watch the video and there are some showcases and ustensils along the walls and at the backside. I admit beeing deceived. The film was in EN and we were asked in when it was half over. Anyway the kids did not yet learn EN in school. When the film was over we tried to see the exposed items, but doing this, a whole bus full of tourists were watching the film and we visibly disturbed them by moving around. Outside there is no explication at all, you see some salt bassins, but nobody to show you around. In less than 30 minutes we were finished with the visit and I wondered why I had planned a day...

People are weird. One dude blew his nose into the mud bath. Mud is deep black and very sticky. Make sure to wear black swimsuit. It is warm and easy to put on. Then you dry yourself in the sun and then go into the sea and try to wash it off. Washing mud off is the hardest thing ever. We came just for one week to Bulgaria and wasting time on that experience is absolutely worthless. Sea by this mud place is also muddy and slippery. There are stones so you need sea shoes to enter sea comfortably. There is little cosmetics store where they sell salty water for 24 Lev. What a joke. You can make plenty salty water at home. Pomorie attraction we could skip but curiosity...

Small but very interesting museum. For a really small entrance fee the curator will tell you the history of the place, will explain you how to and how not to use the mud and the lye from the lake. We had our discourse in Bulgarian but I guess he can do it in English as well. At the end of his talk he will propose you some natural products from Bulgarian Academy of Science which are made with the mud and lye from the lake nearby which was very good ending for me since I was searching those products for a while now 😁

This place is one of underrated Bulgarian treasures. It could be developed much more for tourists and also for local people. In an outside free of charge salt water "baths" we were max 15 people which took the chance to try them. Healthy water and healthy mud. It is possible to buy some natural cosmetics in the museum. Overall- there is no much to do in this calm and a bit strange place, but we spent more than an hour there. Recommend if you are not afraid of interesting smelling mud he he...
