A beautiful place to relax, but the lack of proper signage is extremely disappointing. After spending just three hours here, I received a \
180 ticket—despite having a valid Parks Canada annual pass. This is outrageous, especially considering the Kananaskis annual pass itself costs only \\
90 and $ 15/day.There is only a single sign at the entrance stating that payment must be made online, which is unreasonable given the complete lack of internet service in the area. At the very least, there should be an on-site payment booth.
It feels unfair to Albertans who are simply trying to enjoy the outdoors, only to be hit with steep fines that rarely get reduced to a reasonable amount. Be cautious when visiting areas in Kananaskis—I won’t be returning after this experience.

Read moreExceptional picnic area. We have been here multiple time and its just an amazing picnic spot with some stunning view just check out attached videos & images and see it for yourself. It has many picnic tables sorrounded by lush greenery and some picnic spots have stunning view of barrier lake. There is nice graveled walkway to each picnic table and nice steped entrance to the lake. Ample washroom pitted though. There is a kayak rental place amd parking is enough but an buys day you may struggle to find parking. Ypu do need Kananaskis day or annual park pass to access any site.
