Homestead Antique Museum — Attraction in Alberta

A Hidden Gem in Drumheller! Visited the Homestead Antique Museum during a day trip to Drumheller and was pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed it! The museum is filled with an incredible collection of antiques that offer a real glimpse into pioneer life—from furniture and tools to clothing, household items, and even a two-headed calf. As someone who works in the dental field, I was especially fascinated by their old dental setup. They had a vintage X-ray machine, dental chair, and old instruments on display—it was so interesting to see how far the field has come! The staff were also super friendly and great to chat with, adding to the overall charm of the experience. For a "small" museum, Homestead hits a home run. The layout and displays are amazing, authentic materials. This hits me on several fronts. First of all, I am a proud retired military member. Their military displays brought back many memories, both good and bad. The vehicle display was fabulous and very interesting, showing the pioneer spirit that helped make Canada the best country in the world. The old photos and clothes brought many images from my past back to my forethought and made me drift back to my childhood day and my great-grandparents as well as grandparents and my parents. You might think that the only thing Drumheller has to offer is fossils, but the Homestead Antique Museum is proof that there is more here than just dinosaurs! This museum beautifully represents the earliest years of living in the town. There are thousands of artifacts to look at and learn from.
