It's the only beach and Drumheller that they have available to the public it's not horrible it's a nice place to go on a hot day. And if you just wanna chill and enjoy the sun. Just figured out that they do have bathrooms and free showers at the entrance in the building off to the left (west) side of the road. but it's a great place 4 tubing and suitable for families with little ones. The river is so calm and you can pretty much walk most of it. they have boat access to the river for your canoes, boats and whatever else. I come here every year and I have so much fun and enjoy the sun every time. Drumheller Is my Arizona in Alberta. Xoxoxo great ppl too.

Recently visiting Newcastle beach for just the second time with the purpose of finding birds ands taking photographs, I must say this park has its own attractions. Although small, sections are well treed, providing good habitat for a variety of species. With the Red Deer River at hand, even turkey vultures soar above, a real treat for bird watchers. This past Tuesday, the park was quiet, peaceful and only adds to the wellness of anyone who would take time to visit. Known as an Alberta hotspot for birds, it's well worth the stop.

Really nice spot on the river. There are also other amenities there (hockey, baseball, dog park ...) but for us it was the beach that we wanted. We swam, caught crayfish, and kayaked. If you cross the river a little upstream, you can kayak up the river offshoot until you reach the river again barely upstream of some decent rapids! So that was strenuous but fun!

It's a river stream with a mud/dirt/sand clearing, it's not much of a beach but unfortunately it's the only beach listed in Drumheller. There's no playground, no benches, no concession, and no dogs allowed. Lastly the mud/dirt/sand mixture is very firm so kids can't make sandcastles easily, you'll need to bring large metal shovels to play in it as plastic toys would break. At the end of our trip I heard from a local that there is a nicer spot down the river...
