The views from the top of @kickinghorsemtn are the best of any ski resort I’ve ever been too. The skiing was rad too. The snow quality reminded me so much of Utah’s…dry, light and fluffy. 10/10 on all accounts. This stop on British Columbia’s #powderhighway is going to be hard to beat! Drop a ⛷ in the comments if you’d like to visit here. @tourismgolden #goldenbc #hellobc #beautifulbritishcolumbia #skiing #canada🇨🇦

The view alone is worth coming! 360 degree of unobstructed view of the Rockies and Columbia valley! Snow here is much dryer than BC coastal mountains i.e. Whistler Blackcomb. You need to be an advanced to expert skier/snowboarder to truly enjoy the vast off piste terrains. 4 bowls in total, many skiable runs. The only downside is the limited number of lifts, essentially only one gondola and one chair for the upper mountain. Hopefully future expansion will improve this. We stayed at the Mountaineer Lodge, which is just to the left of the Eagle’s Express gondola. Standard 2 bedroom condo with fully equipped kichen, washer and dryer. The beds are comfortable, linens fresh. Wifi and Netflix are provided free of charge. Locker room for ski is located on the main floor, with boot and glove dryers, yay! Hot tub is 10 person maximum, but it was never too crowded during our stay. Really enjoyed the dry sauna and steam room too! Food at the Eagle’s Eye restaurant is surprisingly delicious, take advantage of the amazing view that comes with it! It’s our 2nd time staying in this resort, highly recommend if you like to ski some fine powder and challenging slopes! Price for lodging is very affordable too.

The best Mountain resort in Canada. Because it’s in between Revelstoke and Lake Louise, it doesn’t get as many tourists and weekend warriors so that’s a huge plus as lift lines are very minimal, even though they only have one gondola that takes you from the bottom to the top. Now I must say, it is steep. Yes, there are amazing runs for beginners and intermediates, but this mountain is truly geared towards black and double black diamond riders. And if you’re willing to hike 10-25 minutes you can find insane inbound terrain that is full of fresh snow. On top of all that, the views at the top are absolutely breathtaking. There is even a restaurant at the very top so you can just enjoy the views while having a drink or some lunch. They also have a fantastic daycare if you have little ones and want to enjoy an adult day on the mountain. Shoutout to Karli who runs an amazing Daycare facility. They have a bunny hill and have amazing instructors for ski and snowboard lessons. My family and I are annual return visitors in the winter since 2019 and don’t expect that streak to stop any time soon.

After Reading 2 very recent Reviews about the Ski Rental Shop, there is clearly a problem regarding how it's managed and how rude and snooty the Employees are. The unfriendly liability is all they care about, with their nose up. Some young guy looked totally miserable and uninterested the entire time, like he'd rather be somewhere else or distracted by his boyfriend. He could have let someone better employable serve me. He could also find a different job. I can think of many more suitable jobs. Some random guy brought me into their "back room", to tell me, that "more than one person thinks I am on drugs or drinking". I came from Edmonton, to Ski, and last 2 days prior have been recovering from a week long cold. I was beyond mortified that some fool talking to me in their back room, would accuse me. Then I asked for the manager, who I met from the Ski Shop. She basically said "some people drink Mimosas". No, You drink mimosas, and probably your Staff too, and they are all hungover creeps, or need a 'drink in the morning or afternoon'. What disgusting low lives and "service" from Ski Rentals. I'll buy my own boots, Skis, poles and helmet 5 times over, before seeing or breathing the same air as some major creep-ville Ski rental Shop, ever in my life. You made my trip, which was good, start off like a slap in the face. Find another job, after you All learn people skills. Disgusting. The rest of all the good that happened in my afternoon on skis was good. The people in the Ski Shop should work in a dump with all that very much uneeded attitude. I actually feel bad for all you fools in some minimum wage job, failing.

Summer mountain biking is a mixed bag. There are plenty of well maintained trails and rental options. There are 2 options: a low speed quad where you hang your own bike by the rear wheel every other chair or the gondola where you basically Tetris your bike and yourself inside however it will fit. The whole bike transportation thing at this resort seems like an afterthought compared to other ski resorts that offer mtb during the summer -- definitely room for improvement. The lift ticket cost is on par with other resorts at 50-70/day. The trails are all high intermediate to expert. There are no options for beginners or low intermediate mtbers despite the advertising "easiest way down" which later ends and forces everyone into blue or black diamond. The fire road could have been an easy out for less skilled but it's blocked off with a sign threatening to take your lift ticket if you use it with a bike. It would be nice of they maintained a green circle or low intermediate route from top to bottom.

Can't wait for my third full season! KHMR is suitable for all ability levels, but if you want to push your limits this is the place to do it. It's absolutely world class terrain and snow. Period. And fantastic staff on all fronts, too. People come from all over the world to set their personal benchmark here. What you're really getting is a gondola ride to heli-skiing terrain. A ten to twenty minute hike will get you the steep, fresh goods even in the afternoon. Lines can get long at any resort but in my experience its the "10am crowd" that gripe the most... Get there for 8am and you'll have no such grounds for complaint. (See photo.) Finally, don't park your gear in the maze and plop down at the coffee shop only to mosey over to the front of the line for 8:45am . That's just lost and found gear around here.
