This museum is top notch, a fantastic starting point for discovering the diverse culture of Gabriola island. I was especially amused by the hippie exhibit, something I never expected to see in a museum. The staff is very helpful and informative and the museum has a good gift shop. There is a self guided garden walk of which a brochure can be found in the museum. Do come here before seeing the petroglyphs and take a photo of the petroglyphs sign so you can identify them upon viewing.
