Great wines, terrible service. We had a reservation but they gave up our spot right in front of us to people who walked in (we arrived with a few minutes to spare before our reservation). I wouldn't have minded waiting if they were running behind but we felt cheated in this circumstance (especially since they had only been open an hour). It just took away from the whole experience. There was a gentleman who gave really generous pours but we got someone who was managing several tables on her own who gave little baby pours (like, just a sip). Because she was hitting so many tables and we had already been seated late we felt rushed to run through the wines as quickly as possible to stay on time for our other tastings and to accommodate how busy she seemed. The wines were great but the overall experience was really negative. We shared our experience with our friends who had mentioned they had also felt the same (rushed and under-poured) when they visited. I hope they can adopt a more pleasant tasting room experience so one can truly appreciate...
Read moreWe initially loved Van Westen - we had a great tasting and bought lots of wine. Unfortunately our lovely experience was entirely ruined by the unprofessional and uncalled-for rudeness of the owner Rob. After leaving another winery later in the day we were getting back into our tour Van and the owner started screaming a swearing profusely at our driver as he was parked on the road (for less than 1.5 minutes). Our driver reminded him that his customers were in this van and had purchased plenty of his wine earlier however that was not important to him as he kept swearing and yelling at our driver. His complete lack of tact and appalling behaviour left a terrible taste in our mouths and we all decided if we had the time we would have returned the wine we purchased. To speak to people the way he did is never called for, and is truly embarrassing. Will never visit this winery again and will not recommend to...
Read moreLegitimately zero seating - standing room only and very little at that... so no food, wines were limited and nothing spectacular... the lady giving us the tasting was VERY rude and condescending, and the cherry on the cake of this bad experience was the bossy lady tried to charge my friend for a 35$ bottle of red when we had asked for a 20$ bottle of white, and at first response answer was "yes sweetie, that wine IS 35$." He's a 6'4 250lb man and did not take well to being called sweetie by this arrogant & rude woman. Lots of way better, nicer and friendlier wineries to stop by instead....
