5 stars for the trail and area 1 star for the social experience
This was a stunning walk with beautiful scenery, sitting area, and swimming area! The people on the trail were very nice and considerate! The visit should have been amazing at the water...
Unfortunately, while we were sitting there there were a bunch of kids knocking over the stacked rocks previous visitors left... they then started picking up those stones and throwing it at us and the other visitors while their parents did nothing but watch them do all this.... The disruptive children and parents who weren't stopping their behaviors kind of ruined the visit so we didn't stay for too long.
The walk back in both directions was uphill. Not too bad but I had to stop quite few times due to my back and my dog wasnt able to make it up all the hills on the way out so he hopped into my back pack (he's a small toy poodle with luxating patella.) I still really enjoyed the walk and scenery though! It is a fair distance for a walk.. so with my back problems I probably wouldn't go back in fear of having the same experience as my first time... it's a shame as the whole experience up until that point was amazing!

Read moreSo, google said to park at the Coombs candy store. That is correct if there is no parking across on the shoulder cuz the pathway to the hole is across from the candy store. If you park on the should it is better.
Once you get to the pathway, keep going to the left. You will make a few left turns in the path. And an open field. There are signs that are marked. (See pictures).
Once you get to the bottom of the hill, there are two ways to go. The right will get to the front of the hole and the left will get you to the back. My pictures are left/back. I crossed the water over rocks to get a picture inside the hole but it is very hard in the spring time to do that maybe better in summer with aqua shoes. I got my hiker/socks all wet. If you go the right side/front, it was deeper waters with no rocks to walk on.
We took our dog. Easy walk down and up from the hole but didn't not take the dog across to the hole but it might be easier in the summer when there is less water. We went in May and the trail was muddy. The gps helped but half...
Read moreHole In The Wall is a natural feature located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, near Tofino. The attraction is a rock formation with a hole carved out by the ocean waves over time. Visitors can access the spot by hiking along a trail and take a closer look at the hole. During low tide, some visitors also choose to swim through the hole.
However, during my trip to Hole In The Wall, I found that there was nothing particularly special about it. While the hike to the spot was scenic and the rock formation itself was interesting, there was nothing that stood out as unique or thrilling about the experience. It's possible that factors such as weather or crowds may have played a role in my underwhelming experience.
Overall, while Hole In The Wall may be worth checking out if you have some extra time while in the Tofino area, I would not consider it a must-see attraction. If you are short on time or looking for a more exciting or unique experience, there may be other activities or attractions in the area that would be a better...
