Horrible experience with NK’MIP cellars Restaurant! Served the wrong dishes+very rude manager!!!We booked 3 tables for 3 different families and when booking advised them we do not need to be served as a group and do not need to sit together (i.e. three separate parties making a reservation with one phone call instead of 3 different phone calls. Also we had inquired whether it would be possible to be placed under the shade or umbrellas because a couple of people were highly sensitive to the sun. Everything sounded so promising until we arrived for lunch! They told us only 2 tables were available for us, and not in shade! So they combined two families into one table, despite two thirds of the seating area being empty. We asked to change one table for another table in the shade, but they refused to let us and said they were booked. I don’t believe the whole excuse of “other group has booked it” as when we left, those tables were still vacant! Funny part is, they still put their 18% gratuities for groups over 6 on our bill, despite the fact we had wanted three separate reservations which they then forced us to combine two tables anyways! When we insisted to speak to their supervisor, she comes out right away with a RUDE, non-professional attitude and said they do it to group over 10. The manager comes out with a “I don’t care what you say, you listen to me” attitude! I hope at the end of the day, you realize you are in the customer service industry and you should listen to what customers have to say before cutting them off. I hope the owner and management of this restaurant will see this review and change this unprofessional behaviour by their staff, it is extremely upsetting and ruins...
Read moreProbably the worst service I have ever received in BC. Went here for a quick wine tasting while staying at the resort. The lady who “greeted” us as the front didn’t acknowledge us for about 4 min while she was sorting receipts and then proceeds to be explain to me and my brother how the drinking age in BC is 19 as if we were stupid, we are both in our 20’s and have lived here our entire life. After she had put us off we proceeded to the tasting station where another lady left to help other people and made us wait for another 5 min. Finally we got to the tasting and the lady knew nothing about the winery. She read off the sheet to tell us the tasting notes and explained nothing else about the wine. Mid way through the tasting she went and talked to another couple she knew and left us standing there waiting for the next pour. Overall, the staff made us feel as if our business was not appreciated and that we were not the customers they wanted to serve. I hope you guys fire your old lady snobby staff or train them on proper customer service. We got better service from the pool server than these ladies. Never coming back here. As for the wine, I would give it 4 stars but we were so put off from the staff and service that we couldn’t...
Read moreHad two exceptional meals here while staying at Spirit Ridge. Also had a pleasant wine tasting with Loyd, who knows what he’s talking about despite the missing “L”.
For lunch, the turkey and brie sandwich was delicious. Others had the pizza cooked in the $30,000 oven. The dining companions were kind enough to share, and so I can report that the ‘za gets a mark of A+. They have topping combinations you are unlikely to see elsewhere. For the less adventurous, they will cobble together a plain cheese pizza.
For dinner on another date, had the Indigenous Flavours meal. It was terrific.
A particular shout out to the server Luke from New Zealand. A misunderstanding led to the belief on our part that pizza would be an option. Upon being seated, we were informed that the pizza option stopped 45 minutes prior. Our Kiwi server, true to his Jedi namesake, used some mind trick to convince the chef to make an exception. Thus we managed to avoid the ire of the youngest child; Pizza delivered.
The portion sizes were fine, but some might find they were a tad small. The price was appropriate for the venue; pizzas are about $25.
As for the atmosphere, I doubt you will find a better view anywhere...
