I am writing to share my recent experience at your facility, which left me extremely disappointed. My visit was intended to inquire about membership and explore the amenities available at your ski club, but unfortunately, the treatment I received from one of your employees significantly overshadowed the positive aspects of my visit.
Upon arriving, I followed the navigation and found the nearest parking area. We parked and proceeded to the reception counter to inquire about the club’s membership options. While I was speaking with the receptionist, an employee wearing a yellow visibility vest approached us. Without any introduction or polite inquiry, they immediately confronted us in a rude manner, saying we arrived when they were not present and stated, "I can walk you out if you're not a member." This interaction was abrupt and lacking in any basic customer service etiquette.
I was genuinely interested in enrolling in your club, but after this treatment, I decided against becoming a member. It was disheartening to experience such a lack of respect and professionalism, especially when trying to explore a potential new activity and club. This type of behavior is not something I would expect from any service-oriented business.
Based on my experience, I would advise others to consider their options carefully before visiting this location. A positive and welcoming attitude towards potential members is essential, and unfortunately, that was not present during my visit. I sincerely hope that this feedback will be taken into consideration and that steps will be taken to improve customer service...
Read moreHad wonderful experiences there as a kid in the 1970's and 1980's taking downhill ski lessons where my late grandmother was the manager of the West Lodge which was a beautiful building that was very comfortable and beautiful inside before it burnt down several years ago now. Some of the patrons I remember were taking those beautiful looking Cinzano ashtrays which are vintage collector items now. Another time I remember is when Prince Charles came there who appeared to have some security men and other officials surrounding him and couldn't get a good enough view of him. The gleuwein parties there back then were always a wonderful event with the barbecued meat made on the balcony along with the other very good pot luck food brought by the other senior members. Ross Wortley the founder of the Ski Club and his family I remember well were very nice people. I heard that Mr. Wortley had passed away a while ago and also wish to give my deepest condolences to his family and friends. My memories over all from there are wonderful ones which I will...
Read moreWe were members at Caledon Ski Club for approximately 12 years. It used to be a very good local club. The hills are not nearly the size of the major clubs in Collingwood, but it is closer to the city making it great for daily commutes. However, over the past three or four years, club management has turned the club into more of what I would call a semi-private club, inviting outside groups, competitions, vendors and so on onto the property. This has had a detrimental affect on the quality of the experience for members as Caledon is not large enough to absorb outside groups in the same way that the larger Collingwood clubs can. We grew tired of having hills closed for outside events, or having large groups of non members (paying lift rates less than public clubs) take up space on the hills, in the chalets and parking -- which is a significant issue. We raised concerns to management, but these were ignored. In the end, we left our membership at Caledon and will look elsewhere. It is unfortunate because 10 years ago this would have been a five...
