Absolutely amazing & well worth the high admission fee as there’s plenty of things included in it (rides) Absolutely tons to do & see highly educational as well. Perfect for getting kids off the devices! You need an entire day to see & do everything as the site is massive. Loved that the kiddie rides, 🚂 ride & boat rides are all inclusive of you’re admission however be sure to check what day you go on as on Wends they do NOT offer the boat ride. I was very impressed that I had lots of choice for food a beverage. They have a brewery/ restaurant in the Quonset that stores the vintage automobiles. Live music was playing outside & although they do not have a petting zoo there are a good selection of live animals inc some rare 3 wk old turkeys I believe You can take 🚜 rides and there is a shuttle that operates regularly The mini Ferris wheel was brilliant & the two gentleman staffing it were wonderful w/ the children - the rides were a definite hi light Mini donuts & a authentic 🍧 snow cone available in the midway area w/ the typical other fast food ie: hotdogs Lovely bakery on the Main Street offering bread buns cookies & scones? Printing press area you can buy notebooks & bookmarks …🔖 neat for kids as print material is starting to become quite a novelty nowadays was nice to see the written word on paper! Be prepared to do tons of walking…

Heritage Park Historical Village, is one of Canada's largest and most well-preserved living history museums. It opened its doors in 1964 and spans over 127 acres, offering a comprehensive glimpse into Western Canada's past. The park features over 180 exhibits and structures, including a working steam train, historical buildings, and interactive displays that depict life from the 1860s to the 1950s. Heritage Park is dedicated to preserving the region's rich heritage, showcasing everything from Indigenous cultures and early settler life to the industrial advancements that shaped modern Alberta. It serves not only as a tourist attraction but also as an educational resource, providing visitors with immersive experiences that bring history to life. I highly recommend you guys all come check this big huge beautiful park. Additionally, there is actually great food. A lot of fun amazing animals and people who work here the hiring manager here must be proud of himself as all their employees working here do not show any attitude. Unfortunately the steam train was not working due to water restrictions. If you walk anywhere, you will see beautiful water showing the city or the mountains

I went to Heritage Park with my children. My youngest uses a wheelchair/ stroller, so we are very aware of accessibility when we visit places. We were able to make our way around a few places with ease, but I was most impressed with the steam train! I was completely ready to have my son's help my daughter onto the train and carry her stroller on board, or leave it behind and double back for it later. While asking a Conductor about the departure times, he directed us to the last train car. I figured it was an easier car to help walk my daughter up to, but we were met with something way better. They had an electric lift to easily load passengers onto the train!! Inside the train car, they had anchors installed to secure the wheelchairs while the train was moving. The rest of us sat on benches next to her. My daughter loved feeling included, and I loved the inclusion for families!! The Conductors were all amazing and so helpful. We are so appreciative of the accommodations that have been added. Thank you, Heritage Park!

I recently attended an organizational event at Heritage Park, and even though the park was closed to the general public, it was a fantastic experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the sheer size of the park—it spans an extremely large area with realistic setups that depict life in Calgary many generations ago. It’s essentially an entire town set up in a historical format, making it a fascinating place to explore. One highlight of my visit was the veterinary area, where I got to see how veterinary medicine was practiced back in the day. Our event was set up in the amusement park section, and I had the opportunity to try several rides, including the Ferris wheel. The staff were incredibly kind, polite, and gracious, ensuring we had a memorable experience. I also noticed a train track that circles the park and regretted not having the chance to ride the trains. I’ll definitely have to come back to Heritage Park next time I’m in Calgary. I highly recommend this park for families and anyone with an interest in history.

Highly recommend getting a chance to walk through a living history park. We stumbled upon Heritage Park while going to the Gasoline Alley Museum and so happy we did. We arrived early with the only queue was to buy tickets. I recommend purchasing tickets before hand to help minimize the hassle. Heritage Park has actors and professionals like the Black Smith who use period tools to restore or fabricate repairs for antique machinery. Everyone was very courteous and happy to answer questions and teach you about what it was like living and working a hundred years into the past. It was amazing to walk through history and see how much technology has advanced. We learned about Woodworking, Black Smithing, being a Veterinary, and got to ride on a real steam engine train. We took an Uber from downtown Calgary, though there is some public transit available. If you are visiting the area, try to make a visit to Heritage Park. We want to go back during the winter as it looks magical.
