I would give this no stars if I could. This was the worst cafe I've ever visited. Now first, the servers are very nice. But I took a dear friend who is 88 years old there, thinking we'd get something old-fashioned and good. Not. It was VERY loud, some machine going so you couldn't talk. The baked goods are all wrapped in cellophane and look about as appetizing as dry-wall. Ordered apple pie, the dough wasn't cooked, it came in a plastic tray. I asked to have it put on a plate and it fell apart. The whipping cream was from a can. This at Heritage Park?? The coffee was extremely bitter. Two men had to return underdone scones. Expensive AND VERY poor quality. I complained to the manager who, while sorry, only offered to give me a comment card, no attempt to refund any money. I STRONGLY advise you to avoid this place like the plague. Heritage Park can do better. It should have home-made pies and baked goods, good coffee so people really have a feeling for what food used to taste like before it came wrapped in plastic and stale-dated. VERY...
Read moreNot sure if people are aware that this place is open during off season. The Railway Cafe is open year round, and we eat here every once in awhile on a Sunday. They usually have a beef stew that comes with a biscuit. The stew itself is full of meat and potatoes. You get a healthy portion when ordering a bowl. It comes in 2 sizes, a cup or a bowl. They also have a selection of wraps and sandwiches which are always tasty as well. Where you pay there is a ice filled well built into the counter that had a selection of pop in glass bottles. My younger one likes drinking pop from a bottle. It's a good place to eat if you want a more quiet laid back place to eat. After your finished eating you can head across the way to the shops which are also open during the winter. I believe you get a 10% discount if you have an...
Read moreWe were sold SPOILED food. On Saturday, February 17TH 2024, we went to the place and bought sandwiches and a tray of protein. However, the tray contained ham in OBVIOUS decomposition state, the smell was terrible, and the color was GREEN. It seems impossible to me to think that they didn't notice. Additionally, it was meticulously hidden in the corner under the cookies. I would hate to think that someone in the kitchen did this to deceive people, but it seemed that way. When we notified this, the girl at the counter had no problem giving us our money back, she was kind, but the situation seems DANGEROUS, and it made us wonder about the quality of the rest of our food. Please be...
