We found this gem of a park situated adjacent to the Green Gables Heritage Place by walking through the Haunted Wood trail behind the Green Gables House. Formerly Cavendish Heritage Park to commemorate the founding families of Cavendish by Scottish settlers, including William Simpson and sons, it was renamed to Montgomery Park as a tribute to Lucy M. Montgomery. Great place for a picnic and short stroll to learn more about the famous author and founding families of Cavendish. The Cavendish Cemetery and MacNeill Homestead are next door.
