Came here as a party of 3. We were seated and served immediately. We chose to sit inside to be out of the sun, but unfortunately the inside was not air conditioned and heat up quite a bit due to the many people and the kitchen, it would have been cooler outside with the breeze, in hindsight. Once inside, we were greeted by house flies, it kind of ruined the atmosphere for us, having them constantly trying to land on our legs (under the table), our heads, and our food/drinks. We ordered a white sangria pitcher to share, it was delicious, not too sweet and you could taste the wine. We also ordered a Cavy Breeze and it was delicious. We ordered wings to share, with pinapple curry sauce and sweet chili sauce, they were delicious! Sauces were really good but not made in house, but that is to be expected with wings. But they were really crispy but not overdone! Exactly how I like my wings. I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops, they were cooked perfectly but only seared on one side, the bacon was extremely salty though, I'd maybe try to order the bacon from a different source. They were seasoned with salt a pepper, which was good, except for the fact that the pepper was preground and tasted like preground pepper from the store. Just how you should serve seafood with real butter, you should probably serve seared scallops with fresh cracked pepper, because there is a difference in taste between the preground and fresh cracked. But overall, the scallops were better than what I ordered at Blue Mussel. We also ordered the halibut, which was delicious! The best! Better than Blue Mussel, again. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese as well, and again, the preground pepper taste was simply too strong. It would have been much better with fresh cracked pepper, and less of it, and a touch more salt. The noodles were also a bit overcooked, which could be easily avoided. But they were very generous with the lobster! The veggies provided with the scallops and halibut were your standard boiled/roasted veggies, not really seasoned, but they were vegetables and they were good. The mashed potatoes did nothing for us, because again, they tasted like preground pepper. Service was great! I did not catch our server's name, but she wore a sea star bracelet. She was very kind and easy to communicate with, and brought our food and drinks quickly. I don't know if I'd recommend this place or go again, but if you are fine with the seasoning on the food that I mentioned above, I'd go! I'd recommend sitting outside to (hopefully) avoid the flies! 3 out of 5 stars total, for the reasons mentioned above! The lower rating was due to the food and atmosphere, and not the service.

Place is nice, small on the inside but nice big patio seating outside as well. My party of 3 wanted to sit inside for more shade, bench style seating, not airconditioned so outside with the breeze would have been the better choice for seating as it got quite hot. Club music playing not too loud. Many flies inside, was quite annoying but not horrible. Would benefit from a screen door as they leave it open or some fly traps. Their menu is different from the one on their website (and very different from google) so some of us had to choose something else than what we had decided on prior to coming but that’s okay. Had the pitcher of white wine sangria, very refreshing and not sweet like some sangrias tend to be, but not anything special. Big pitcher enough for 6 glasses. Chicken wings to start with the pineapple curry (mildly spicy) and maple chilli (very spicy) sauces; very tasty and wings were crispy and fresh! Took about 10-15 mins for drinks and appetizers to arrive. Another 30-40mins before mains dishes. (Ordered everything at 5:20pm, mains arrived at 6:15pm). Lobster Mac was terrible, sauce was like glue and needed salt but had way too much pepper, noodles overcooked and mushy, lobster was generous which is nice but I don’t recommend it. Bacon wrapped scallops (5 scallops) were cooked well, sweet and not fishy or sandy, but also way too much pepper, mashed potatoes underwhelming. Halibut was excellent, very fresh and cooked perfectly (better than at blue mussel cafe apparently). Everything could have benefited from some lemon. Cavy breeze cocktail very good I recommend! Over all staff was very kind, food is hit and miss but compared to some other places it’s worth trying.

We returned to The Lost Anchor this season, drawn back by great memories and from a double visit last year—safe to say expectations were high. The place was buzzing when we arrived. We were seated quickly despite being busy, but food and drinks took longer than expected. Staff were managing a busy evening and mentioned a new chef stepping in—something we appreciated, even though the change brought some noticeable hiccups. Drinks were slow, and meals arrived without cutlery, forcing us to wait before we could dig in. Ordered a Caesar and the flavor hit all the right notes—but the rim and garnishes felt a little off. Still satisfying, but not quite the full experience I was hoping for. That said, the food held up: - Kid #1 and Kid #2 both had burgers and fries—no complaints, just clean plates (and a little sisterly rivalry over who got served first). - I went for the fish & chips. Visually impressive, flavor was decent, though the fries taste didn’t quite match their look. - My wife opted for the burrito bowl and was satisfied—though like me, had to spend some extra minutes eyeing her meal before eating it. All in all, we got food, we got drinks, and we’ll chalk this one up as a busy-day bump and chef transition timing. Still planning to give it another shot next year—we know what it can be when it hits its stride.

We had a wonderful time at The Lost Anchor! We came to Cavendish for our HoneyMoon during the off season, and finding food with dietary restrictions in mind was a struggle (that is to say, impossible). We were driving 20-40 minutes away to find a restaurant, the whole time overlooking this gem that was right under our nose!

When we arrived, it was Moderately busy, but they were short staffed and had unexpectedly gotten swamped and asked if we could come back in 30 minutes (Keep HEAVILY in mind this is Cavendishes off season and every other restaurant here is already closed!). The staff were extremely apologetic and polite when voicing this. We were staying at the motel right next door, so had no issues with this.

When we came back in 30min, we were sat right away, and the hostess was extremely pleasant, and our server was extremely nice as well!

The food (Mussels, the autumn salad, the Cajun pasta sub lobster) was GREAT, as well as the Carrot cake cheesecake for dessert (HANDS DOWN THE BEST DESSERT WE’VE HAD!) Customer service was 10/10, food was 10/10, and considering there was only ONE staff member in the kitchen at the time we were there, the food was amazing!

We had a nice conversation with the owner, who personally came over to thank us for coming and for our patronage. REALLY? When does that ever happen at a restaurant? After the amazing food and drinks we had to boot? As if he had anything to thank US about!

We have 3 days left in our honeymoon, and I wouldn’t be surprised if supper for those 3 days were spent here.

Great job to the owners and all the staff. We’ll be coming back to Cavendish again, solely...
