I love this little history museum of Muskoka and port Carling. I visited it a few years back with my wife and really enjoyed it. I'm a bit disappointed that it took us 20 years of coming to Muskoka, annually to finally try this gem about the history of this great place. I took my kids this year and they loved it as well. Keep up the great work.

Must go if in area. Excellent collection of artifacts pertaining to the whole history of Muskoka. How it started as white pine logging, through promotion of agriculture (that failed because of infertile soil) to the great out of town entertainment and leisure industry.

Staff was very friendly being we showed up 30min to closing. The kids loved looking at the old phones and it was fun to show the kids how the settlers use to live in muskoka.

Excellent place to learn a little to a lot about Muskoka area heritage and history. Lots of excellent historical pieces, many of which were interactive (including a working dial telephone pair and a megnetophone pair), with lots of games and activities for children as well. Also had a quaint gift shop to buy historical books and fun knick knacks. Would...

Great experience. More than what I was expecting. Amazing pieces.

It's unfortunate that the overtly large "Do Not Touch" signs, that are posted everywhere and on everything, takes away from elements of the vintage and antique items... BUT, it shows that too many people have no respect for beautiful,...
