BBQ Kings — Restaurant in District Municipality of Muskoka

As a lifelong BBQ enthusiast from Los Angeles who has eaten my way through nearly every notable BBQ joint across Texas and North America, I can say without hesitation that I know great BBQ when I taste it. I've had the honor of attending the world-renowned "Super Bowl of Whole Hog" at Memphis in May, where I met legends of the pit — including the incredible Myron Mixon and the remarkable Aaron, celebrating their fifth Grand Championship together. So imagine my shock and delight when, while traveling through Canada, I stumbled upon a low-key spot called BBQKINGS True Southern BBQ — unassuming, with almost no advertising. And yet, there he was: Aaron, the most humble, kind, and gracious pitmaster I’ve ever met. A true craftsman of the fire, smoke, and soul. The food is Unreal. Every bite is a masterclass in Southern BBQ. The menu is excellent, but the off-menu specials are where the real magic happens. Every sauce and rub is handcrafted, balanced, and nuanced in a way that, frankly, would be right at home in a Michelin-starred kitchen. If only Texas Monthly reviewed Canadian spots — they’d be lining up at the door. Canada is lucky to have a pitmaster of Aaron's caliber. He brings not only his skill and accolades but also a rare warmth and humility to everything he does. I count it a blessing to have met him again, this time in a place that’s quietly redefining what BBQ means north...

Recently moved to the area and finally got a chance to try this spot. Met Aaron who was super friendly and encouraged me to try some of the specials, but I had already ordered a brisket sandwich on the website. I guess I should have waited to see what the specials were, because I was frankly hoping for a much better sandwich given it was $29 with tip for a sandwich and fries (no drink). Fries were excellent, but I'm guessing brisket might have been from the previous day as it was somewhat dry and I feel there should have been more meat. Aaron actually asked me how it was and I gave him the thumbs up, only because i was at the table and he was inside, and I didn't want to bring it up there and then. But, I will deffo try it another day and give the specials a go, as I love supporting local businesses. I'll go for what's fresh and on special though next time, and based on the reviews here I'm sure it'll be great. I love Aaron's customer service and friendliness, which earns him that extra star on today's visit. Just some constructive feedback for you new friend....

BBQ kings InDeed! This food truck was amazing, let’s start with that, we got a sandwich and burger. Both were Delicious(with a capital D) the gravy that came with the sandwich sent the whole meal to another level. The fries were also great!! fresh cut, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, I’m pretty sure they sprinkle a bbq spice on them too. The service was excellent too. The fella at the cash was kind enough to bring our meals to the table and check on us again to see if everything was alright. The atmosphere was ideal with a great view of your surroundings, It was nice to eat and watch the traffic go by. All in all BBQ kings food truck was top notch and I would recommend anyone passing through Huntsville to stop by and...
