Kind and accommodating staff, we had a few back and forth calls to add people to our group for whale watching and they were kind enough to he honest about the spots left on the tour and keep us posted on confirming the additions to our group. I highly suggest calling at least a day in advance to book your spots cause tour seats fill up fast. We were unlucky for the tour though because 30 mins before, a thick fog suddenly clouded our sunny day and the visibility on the waters further from the shoreline was less than 50 meters. You could tell the staff onboard the ship were also bummed and reluctantly had to tell the guests onboard that "we should still keep hope that the fog clears out, or that we run into the sighted whales from earlier that morning". Towards the end of the tour, we luckily spotted a couple seals and a group of porpoises that briefly followed the boat, but the Captain kindly offered rain checks for guests to return another day in hopes of seeing whales. It was still interesting to ask questions to the staff and captain to learn more about their operations, sightings and experience with observing the marine life within the Bay. We will definitely return to cash in these rainchecks! At the Petit Passage Headquarters, there's a little cafe and restaurant. The menu feels underrated - their fish burger was simple yet amazing, and I tried my first "Digby scallop roll" which was literally like a brioche hot dog bun stuffed with fresh butter sauteed scallops. And the price was mind-blowing, I think it was like 10$ for the fish burger with haddock, and 14$ for the Scallop roll? My partner hoped that should we return from the Tour and the kitchen was still open, that they could make one last Scallop roll for the road. It was worth it!

We booked our whale watching experience in advance and it did not disappoint! We were out all afternoon and found 3 whales who were hanging out in a well known feeding area. There were puffins swimming nearby as well! They gave use quite a show, flapping their tails, blowing air out of their air holes. The staff were knowledgeable and told us about what kind of whales we were looking for and why, as well as other interesting whale facts. They had blankets on board- I definitely recommend dressing warmly with a knit hat, wool sweater and mittens if you have it. It may seem like overkill while you are waiting in land in 20 C weather, but my hands were tingling numb from the cold by the end of it. If you are someone who gets motion sickness, be warned. Take gravol before hand and watch that horizon. Our 6 year old who often gets car sick was ill. She did bounce back, but I think it depends on your child. Bring cash if you’d like to leave a tip! I would suggest that they have a tap tip option in the future.

We went with Petit Passage on the August long weekend and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had! We saw seals, dolphins, and a family 5 humpback whales! It was surreal seeing so many of them and be so close. There were times that the whales went under and then came up right beside our boat. It was like something out of a movie! I would HIGHLY recommend Petit Passage because once you get to Digby, you don't have to take a ferry to then get to their boat. You park, there's a nice small shop where you can grab something to eat, then the boat departs and you're off for a couple of hours. Thank you Petit Passage for such a fantastic experience!

Of course we picked a day that provided pouring rain and a thunderstorm and walls of fog, but the captain and crew provided blankets for those who felt chilly. They also provided us with access to the very clean, well lit with many windows cabin area where we were warm and dry with comfortable seating for about 6-8 people. We did see whales but it took a bit of searching. It was pretty neat nonetheless. When we got back to land we were dropped off at the wharf farthest away from the car park because the ferry was at the closer dock. This gave us about a quarter mile walk in the rain/thunder but it was actually quite refreshing. It was a warm summer rain. The boat ride itself was smooth and enjoyable, very comfortable seating on deck before the rain started. I would highly recommend going on this adventure, and will probably go again when the weather is sunny and fogless. The scenery going out and in through the passage is probably very breathtaking and I'd love to see it. While we waited to go on board, we had breakfast at the Petit Passage restaurant, where we registered for the cruise. They have a decent breakfast menu that was prepared very quickly and was delicious. There are also other menu options available. They have a snack selection that you can purchase to bring along on the boat, as well as souvenirs. The restaurant is super clean and bright, with very...
