I can’t believe that the border crossing experience could get worse than default … but they did it. The Canadian side toll collection now doesn’t accept cash, has pumped up the toll to a whopping CAD$11, and, best of all, has the most idiotic credit card scanning machines I’ve ever seen. The machines don’t work with most CC tap functions (tried 3 CCs: an Amex, a Visa, and an MC) and then apparently thus requires you to insert and enter code … on a keypad invented by ancient Egyptians and not following a phone keypad layout that has been STANDARD for literally 60-70 years on every other keypad device ever!
