Went for Canada Day. Far better than being on the hill, only a couple of hundred well behaved families watching the fireworks with an incredible view. NO MOSQUITOS! There are food and drink vendors so you are able to enjoy your time. Stage was set up for musical entertainment. .. this is where it falls apart. There is so much great Canadian talent out there but there was no effort into pulling in any very talented artists for this big day. No. You don't need Famous names, but you need better than karaoke singers. When the fireworks start, turn off the terrible techno terrible music. The entertainment is at that time the fireworks, don't compete with that, let it be what it is.

MosaiCanada 150 is tucked into a corner of the Park. It holds a marvellous collection of over thirty sculptures imaginatively constructed out of plants and flowers. Underlying the living vegetation is some sort of frame or structure which can't be seen. Each sculpture is quite marvellous such that I photographed over half of them so that I can see them again and again.

My favourite sculpture is Mother Earth seen as the head of a sad female. It took a long time to view each of two Chinese sculptures because of the complexity of the dragons and lions. In front of the large locomotive was a large field of hundreds (thousands?) of individually potted poppies. The RCMP horse and rider, prospector, lobster fisherman, giant, voyageur and hockey player are...

This park may be nice but no one talk about parking lots for this park. We made two attempts from Ottawa West first time on Canada Day could not find parking and returned home. Second time made another attempt but found parking way too much costly it is like they are charging you for the entry pass in parking fee of $20. I saw many motorists returned as $20 was too much for them for parking only. Really don't know if Govt or Parks Canada aware of this parking fee. We were very disappointed seeing businesses around this park were making money out of parking. Also the parking lot assigned for the park was badly managed with long queue waiting to pay that $20...but we would never go to public park with $20 parking fee. Such a big country but no...
