Read moreFor a small region, this place was fun. We went during the game changers exhibit. Kids enjoyed playing the old games. A little girl returned my phone after I left it on the console. So much fun. But the uniqueness the staff brings to educating people on the development of the area, was amazing. The little town built on the grounds and staff was so knowledgeable. From the gentleman showing us how a gord off a tree can chop wood, tours of old residences, a vehicle history barn, 50's mechanic shop, a live blacksmith telling stories and the latest addition of a old convience store with a lovely lady who knew such great details (her applaud to the college staff who assisted in the building, the women's store this was replicated after, the workmanship on the shelving, finding prices from the area). Read moreThe museum is large and the displays are well laid out. The combination of both modern design and history gives the impression that much thought was given to the development of this museum.
The admission price is very reasonable, even considering that there are still large areas where future development is in various stages of completion.
I think I would have added another star if I had been able to view some of the historical buildings in the property. I could have walked to them, but they were locked up on the day of my visit.
There are activities for children. A theater area was playing a children's cartoon, although I couldn't see the relationship of the content to the museum.
