This place is a must see for anyone in the vicinity. It's worth going out of your way for too. Free to visit, but donations are welcome as it must take a tonne of work to maintain all the landscaping.
Extensively landscaped grounds which seem to have been inspired by French gardens. Lots of maintained paths and trails winding their way around the property. Surrounded mainly by farms, this place really stands out!
The owner or groundskeeper was on site when we visited, and he was letting people inside the house to look around. It's like a museum in there! Every room is filled with antique furniture and items, and nothing has been updated for many decades.

The manor house, the gardens - all him. Staggering. Things are getting a trifle run down now, but the man is alone and eighty years old. The gardens are truly a wonder; the fallen grandeur is something to behold. Even the barns and greenhouses are fascinating.
And the house - again, the art, skill and incredible drive to design and build such a masterpiece must be seen to be believed. If you are lucky enough to be invited in, just look at the staircase.

You can sense that every flower and tree has been thoughtfully planned and lovingly crafted by the owner. Barry, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming; he showed us around, introduced us to the establishment , and even took us inside to have a look. I’m truly grateful that he created this space for all to enjoy. Morland Place will always hold a special in my heart.
