Visited the top of the falls on New Years Day, 2022. 🎊

You can also visit the falls from the base, but today we wanted something easier because of the mud so we started at the top of the mountain and stayed at high elevation. For a more challenging hike, park near the playground just north-east of the falls. To do what we did, read "parking" below.

Quite a tranquil space to walk your pooch in the dead of winter, and a stunning waterfall to take in. ❄ It's easily one of the biggest easy-access falls in Hamilton.

Bonus: 🌹 The rosehip bushes are sweet, ripe, and super juicy this time of year, if you're in to foraging.

Popularity: We loved how it was pretty quiet! We passed maybe 10 other groups of hikers in the whole 1 hr 30 min duration of our hike. We also passed two lads on ATVs, which was stinky and noisy, but thankfully they were out of nasal-range within seconds, and out of earshot within minutes. 🙊🙉🙈

Parking:

*Note: This is not an official parking spot.

We parked at the smaller falls just to the East, called "Glover's Falls." It's a 1 hr 30 minute round trip from parking to falls and back again, with stops to take photos along the way.

If you park at Glover's Falls, it's just a dead end road that faces a cliff (not a parking lot). There's enough space for 10 cars or so. To get to Felker's falls, face Glover's falls and turn left toward the trail that is level, and follow the gorge so it stays on your right-hand-side and the subdivision construction is on your left. Do NOT walk to the right of the falls, where the trail is on a downward slope, as that will take you further away from Felker's falls.

For a quick 15 minute walk, you can also park at the top of the falls near the Children's play park, just a few meters to the south...

I can't say enough about this place, we love it. Nice secluded little gem. The entrance and parking lot is in a residential area, where it wouldn't seem like there would be a conservation area... Or a huge cliff/waterfall drop but it's BEAUTIFUL.

You get in and there's a nice little playground and field but if you go a little further there are 3 trails you can go down leading into the whole area - it's gorgeous and quite a drop. The waterfall is beautiful. It kind of reminds me of the devil's punch bowl a bit of you've been. There's a well maintained paved path but there are also TONS of little dirt paths that you can take through the forest.

There isn't much fencing around the perimeter of the falls so be careful. There should be more signs but we also don't want to happen here what happened to albion falls where you can't enjoy the experience anymore. I wish I had taken my camera that day as it made for the best photos but next time :)

You can go down but it's quite steep with no set path. Although there are spots where it could be done for a healthy and fit human. We couldn't go down with our pup. Definitely not safe for children or seniors to trek down.

The scenery and landscape are beautiful but there are a lot of trees, making it difficult to really see however at the same time, lots of trees aren't a bad thing!

I love this place. Not too crowded. Would...

This has Bruce Trails on either side of the falls. The parking is free but limited. You can choose to walk through a wooded area with viewing platforms on the left side as you walk toward the falls from the parking lot. There are beautiful views from the edge of the escarpment from the wooded area. There is also an asphalt, wide pathway, to the left. This is good for a family walk for kids on bikes or baby carriages or wheelchairs. If you keep walking on this pathway, you eventually come to the Redhill Valley Parkway. Walking that path and back takes me 45 minutes. This path also goes past a large sports field with some parking but I am not sure if it has washroom facilities. There are short, narrow, side trails marked in blue but they get quite close to the edge of the escarpment at times. You may not want young kids on these trails. There is a small play area for kids by the parking lot-- a good place to let the kids have some fun or a bite to eat before or after your walk. This is one of my favourite walks with my 2 dogs. If you go to the right as you face the falls, you will be on the...

5 incredible Hamilton Waterfalls 🌊🥾 As I travel all over Ontario I try to get a few hikes in at one time. Ontario is massive and its not easy to drive back and forth between home and trails. So usually my hikes are of 2-3 near trails at once. This was part of a Waterfalls Crawl I did where I was able to visit a few locations in the same day. Took a drive down to Hamilton just for that. Was lucky to visit the following Waterfalls: Felkers Falls Buttermilk Falls Tiffany Falls Webster's Falls Albion Falls Each Falls is unique and glorious in its own way. If you get a chance, visit that region so that you can experience each one. #waterfalls #WaterfallMagic #chasingwaterfalls #ontariohiking #getoutside
