Worth the hike to Sassafras Point Lookout. It was the end of March so Sassafras trail was fairly muddy--nothing unexpected for this time of year. The trail can be reached from other trails, and all part of the Royal Botanical Gardens. The RBG does a great job with all the trails and gardens! Check them out!
What I liked: The trail was fun because it went up and down hills and around a bunch of bends. It wasn't boring. When you get closer to the lookout, you can see the water off to the sides. There were parts of the trail where birdsong filled the air, it was quite lovely. I mostly heard red-winged blackbirds. I saw some swans and Canada geese swimming in the water.
The trail wasn't too long so if you don't have a lot of time, you can access it from Caleb's Trail and walk it in under an hour. I stopped for some photos so I took 1.5...

The trail is not too long. We paked on the Parkside Dr. and took the Ravine Road trail to get to Sassafras-point trail. If one doesn't have a lot of time. They can also access it from Caleb's Trail and walk it in less than an hour.
Spring or early summer may be a good time to capture nice snaps before the algae grows...
