The amount of green space, available tables and fire pits, and space between each site was excellent. It was a beautiful place to spend a day.
The only issues I found were poor signage both in the park and in the parking lot. You have to access most of the parking through the zoo parking, but there's no signs directing you there. We showed up first to find a spot and had family meeting us later on. Trying to direct them to the site we settled at was very hard as there is very little to use for directions. Also, the website said the park was completely closed due to construction, causing us to heavily consider changing venues, when in fact it was open and packed with people.
All in all worth the trip, but the experience could definitely be improved by fixing...

Located just of the freeway in the laurier heights neighborhood, the park is a small but pretty a open place, to throw a football or baseball around, or play with the dog. There is a hockey rink, as well as a building that I think is the community center. Might just be the indoor changing area for the rink. There is also a tennis court, which is usually pretty active in the summer. I'm sure you have to be a part of the community leave to access it or the hockey rink, or just be with someone who is. I got the church which is just across from it, and really do like the neighborhood. It's a cool little park, and better yet it is not that far of a walk from the river valley. Read moreThe playground is great with a nice little splash pad for the kiddos to keep cool. The only downside today was that there was an after school or daycare program using the park, spray park and field and they left a lot of garbage lying around...
