Beautiful campground, buts it’s a shame that one person can ruin the entire experience, the site supervisor is an incredibly unpleasant woman. We had music playing at a VERY respectable level at 930pm (we are not a young party group) and she came to our site talking of noise complaints (untrue), I questioned her of quiet time (their information sheets say 10pm) and turned the music off. She immediately started to raise her voice and get confrontational with me stating Kenora bylaw is 9pm which is correct but their site info is 10pm. I turned the music off, did not argue, but asked why she was such a mean person, to which she immediately called the OPP and reported a confrontational guest, I gladly awaited their arrival so I could have a civilized conversation with them. I explained the situation to them, and we all laughed and agreed that she is a nuisance to them on a near nightly basis for unnecessary call outs for very minor situations. We will definitely not be returning after several in our group have been going there yearly for years, a...
Read moreThe camping is beautiful. The tent site are large and the lake is cute. But if you're searching to have a quiet night or relax, don't go there. We're are travelers and we're driving across canada in camping site with no services (less expensive). I already knew that the "quiet time" rule was a myth. This camping just confirmed it. Even if they say they'll reinforce after 11 pm, it wasn't true. Music was loud, dogs was barking, people we're talking loud. My boyfriend went to the office twice and nobody was there. I called the office too. Was I suppose to ask the other to keep their dog silent ? No. Is it my place to say to the people to stop their music ? I don't think so. Don't go there if you need to relax. Go sleep in a Wal-Mart parking, it's more quiet.
Oh ! And a smile when we say hello could be nice. She couldn't care less about the service...
Read moreStayed in July 2017. Our site was a pull in forward spot with an incredible view down over the open field to the lake and swimming area. We were greeted by friendly and informative staff who made sure we had everything we needed. The site was level and very private. The services were conveniently located and worked reliably. The lake is handy and lots of people were swimming and sitting beachside. Water was clear and warm. A quick walk gets you to a grocery store and Canadian Tire, and a short drive into town is worth the trip as it is a great waterfront spot for walking around. There was a report of a bear in the area, but no sign of him while we stayed. Staff provided lots of instructions with managing your campsite to reduce the draw for wildlife. We will definitely stay here again. We stayed in...
