KFC — Restaurant in Kenora

This location still seems to be under management from away and it shows a bit. I understand there have been some changes recently in supervision and think it is a positive move for this outlet. The food is still very tasty and properly cooked which is appreciated. They are still only doing takeout orders and another good sign is the line usually stretches our to the highway. I've had good luck as well using the KFC app to order online. It was nice to get an email that your order was ready, show up and go as you can pay online They are very careful to comply with the pandemic regulations and I am very comfortable ordering from here. The staff are very pleasant and work hard to satisfy their customers. If I have any concerns at all, it is that the line can be very slow at times. I suspect new staff are training so please be patient and ensure you thank the staff for working. I would also recommend tipping if you can. A good hint, coming at KFC from the West is recommended. (From downtown). If coming from the East (past A&W) you are in a centre turning lane. Kenora ON. Thur & Fri between 6-8pm, during largest international fishing tournament around. Left on two visits Thur w/o ordering, left once on Fri and decided to go through the gamut at 7:50pm Fri to take notes. The drive thru was closed; seating area well utilized, the parking lot was full and lineups were to the door inside on every visit. We waited a few mins for parking and another 20 mins just to order. The lone cashier was interrupted twice by a manager (?) using the register for whatever reason. The three orders ahead of us all had chicken tenders in them and when the person behind us tried to order them at about 8:20, they were told that there was only 2 left and no more were going to be made for the evening. Our order was nicely filled within 10 mins and we left by 8:30. There were customers still seated, the lineup was still to the door and parking lot was still full. Short staffing probably explains the closed drive thru but the customers turning away is frightful. And for the life of me I can't figure out why the chicken tenders were pulled from the menu when the store was open for another hour and a half and the place was packed....

I feel pretty silly leaving a review for a KFC but I gotta say this was pretty exceptionally bad. There was nobody at the desk so I waited a couple minutes until the world's rudest man came up. I tried having the slightest conversation with him to be nice during my order and it may as well have been a... just a passive-agressive robot that's being inconvenienced. I got a veggie chicken sandwich which was almost $20 for a piece of literally just vegan chicken on cheap bread and it took 10+ minutes. I mean I get it, I'd rather chill on my phone all day too but when I worked in fast food I put a bit more thought into it than this lol. Clearly they don't have bonuses or prizes or competition or friendly work parties or anything of the sort to make the job enjoyable. I'd much rather give money to a business that keeps their people happy.

This can be a pro or a con but the place also hasn't been renovated in forever and feels like youre in a time capsule of a burger...
