The museum is a little smaller then I expected, as half of it is just information about the owner, and there is nothing upstairs. However, the museum is completely free, regardless of which kind of tour you choose. You can either go with a guide. Get a complimentary audio tour. Or, print the history of the place from the internet and walk around on your own. Aside from the fort, this is really the only other thing on this side of the river that's worth seeing, and since it's free and a short walking distance from the ferry, there is no excuse for you skip this place. Especially if the weather is bad, it's a good place to get out of the cold. The only historic home in the area that's open regularly, outside of the tourist season.

Then the main house is set up in Victorian period with some of the original pieces and other appropriate period pieces. Our guide, Denise was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining and the restored home of Alphonse Desjardins, the founder of the first credit union in Quebec and Canada was very interesting.
