Whonnock Lake — Attraction in Maple Ridge

We usually go to this park a lot years ago. When we come back there again, it's changing a lot but it's getting better. A big playground had built. It's good for kids. The green area is smaller than before. The small concession was gone. The water is so clear and the new soft sand in the beach for good for all. If you plan go to there in summer, you better go early morning to get the parking spot. There are 6 portable washrooms in the park. The washrooms in the centre are still open. The calm lake are perfect for all...

Whonnock Lake is one of our favourite places to visit - especially in the fall. It can be crowded during the summer months - especially on weekends - and is somewhat limited with the playground area, however, kids will find things to entertain themselves with.

When my daughter was two, we visited almost every week. Now that she’s a year older, and due to Covid, we have only visited one time. We will check it out a few more times...

Great beach, close to the parking lot. The park needs to have the cork type ground all through it. The sand becomes unbearable for kids to be in with sandals on. At least at the beach we have a bucket and use the water to frequently cool the sand around where we sit. The concession stand needs to come back! It is a noticable loss and convenience not there anymore. Should also bring back the peddle...
