This is located inside the train station along with a little cafe/bistro. It has locally made items and McBride gifts. We purchased a wood train xmas tree ornament and a pair of hand knit baby booties. We were also told of a model train set that was tucked away. An employee walked us over to a door where an older gentleman was working away on his huge model train set! Our 3yr old and my husband absolutely loved it! Read moreWe stopped at the McBride VIA Rail Station in July 2019 during our trip to Prince Rupert from Jasper. There was a nice Art and Crafts Gallery gallery housed within the heritage station building. The gallery has some of the paintings and art works done by the local artists on display.. The name of the gallery is ‘Whistle Stop Gallery’. There is also a café and coffee shop called ‘The Beanery’. Read moreUsually is closed when we roll through town but today the cafe was open (closes at 4pm) and am glad we stopped. Not an extensive or complicated menu but very well done. He was an army cook. My Rueben was perfect (the right kind of mustard, was pressed, just the right amount of everything) and the (homemade) potatoe salad was brilliant - was even plated. Bring cash or eTransfer.
