Great people, great food, great coffee!!

Stopped by for some wifi and breakfast and left with a great experience! Food was delicious, cooked in a small kitchen where you can probably watch if you wanted to. Like others have said, it’s like homemade food made by your grandma and tastes so comforting and FRESH! I got the breakfast sandwich which i ended up having to take half away with me. My partner got the traditional breakfast and the potatoes were pretty yummy! We also got a small soup which they graciously separated into two bowls for us since we were sharing- thank you so much! It is appreciated. What really blew me away was the coffee! I’m not usually a caffeine drinker but i needed it, so i got a mocha. My partner got a latte and got a brewed/drip coffee to go. The mocha was delicious and not extremely sweet so it was a pleasure to sip on. The latte was just as amazing too and the drip coffee.... i actually liked it! Considering the fact that every coffee before this tasted the same to me - bitter and not enjoyable... this coffee was so smooth and delicious. Definitely stopping by here again whenever i pass through! I don’t know her name but presumably the owner/cook, she saw me scratching my numerous mosquito bites and offered up the hand sanitizer (iisopropyl/alcohol) as she said it would stop the itch... and it did!! I get such bad bites that swell up to the size of plums and this trick did indeed work. So glad i happened to find this place. Guy who made our coffees/took our orders had some good recommendations and was friendly as well. Come here, enjoy the food, drinks, and company - you...

A nice atmosphere and location, great for people passing through. However I would have to say this is one of my most unpleasant customer service experiences in BC after years of travelling and visiting just about every small town. I’m shocked.

I first was uncomfortable as I was standing at the till waiting for the cashier, who ignored me for several minutes, but I thought that perhaps she’s just very busy.

Unfortunately the woman working the cash was so unbelievably rude to me because I did not hear her mumbled instructions (she never bothered to look up at me) to replace the sticky notes on the muffins to the shelf, which I did as I was asked when she repeated herself. Apparently I should just know the systems she has in place by reading her mind.

She was so terse and unfriendly to the point that I had to ask her why she was being so mean. She was dismissive and unfriendly...

So quaint and quirky! When you enter, grab a green card and fill out what you want to order (there is a menu right there and also at the tables), then hand it to the chef. Coffee and tea are self-serve, but there is a friendly cashier to help you out. It is a strange set-up for sure, but comfortable. Food is in no rush, very worth the wait. I had a breakfast bagel and it was loaded with fresh veggies and sprouts on top of your usual meat/cheese/egg. Homefries were excellent, too, and a garnish of fresh fruit.

There is an adjoining info centre/gift shop/art gallery if you wish to peruse some cool stuff while you wait. I highly recommend this place if you are stopping in McBride and have a few...

Such a charming little place to stop by when you’re in the area! My friend and I stopped by on a whim during our road trip, and we’re so glad we did. The breakfast was delicious and filling; the veggies in the breakfast bagel were fresh, the egg was perfectly runny, the sausage was nice and hearty. The drip coffee was good, with free refills - I didn’t try any of the espresso-based drinks so I can’t vouch for the quality, but I overheard that they use fresh beans locally roasted on Mt. Robson. The staff and owners were friendly and very helpful. If you’re there on a sunny day, I recommend sitting outside around the back so you can enjoy the sight of the mountains and check out the trains!

A place with character. These types of places are what makes travel fun. Would definitely stop here again next time we’re in McBride. The store and decor was cute. The owners were chatty and welcoming and pleasant. Food was good - we had the full breakfast (photo - I skipped the toast but it comes with toast) which was a filling, maybe the hash browns were a *little* salty. Drip coffee was good, free refills. Also, bill was super cheap compared to what I’m normally used to, living in Vancouver. Cash only, so hope you got some on ya.
