Ritchie Wharf Park — Attraction in Miramichi

Great place to take the kids. The new playground is wonderful and is a welcome addition to the younger kids' playground next to it. It's wheelchair accessible and they've recently added musical instruments, too! The splash pad on the other side is also a favorite with the kids. It's not the most exciting splash pad (could use a little updating), but the kids still enjoy the little sprinklers and water buckets. In the summer, the ice cream shop and candy store are open. There are bathrooms there, but a little far from the playground/splash pad area. One thing to note: If you have little kids (or a lot of kids), it's hard to keep track of them, as the play area is quite big and they tend to run from one spot to the next. (The small hills built into the area make visibility hard if you're sitting in one spot) Otherwise, this is one of our family favorite spots...

Most interesting unique free park jewel in the area! My family and I did a "pit stop" at this place during our Maritimes road trip in Jul 2023. We loved this park which had quite an interesting statue-like structure theme in the shape of a ship wreck. Located on the far east of Newcastle, I followed carefully the directions which was spot on. The park had an assortment of things to do: playground, picnic & benches to sit down, docks, lovely sightseeing into the riverfront, and fast-food and beverage options at reasonable prices. What caught our attention was the free open-air mini concerts: down-to-earth kind of musicians showing off their Acadian heritage through songs for which I enjoyed. I highly recommend this...

I loved this place and the music they have there . I had hope to go on a boat tour call the lad and he said he needed at least 12 people to do the tour and he would call me when he had enough people but he never did I when back to the wharf that evening to see that he was already taking people out and never had the decency to call me so I could go out. The same happened to me last year when I was home. Not happy about that and surprise to see that the restaurant was not open as I was looking to get a meal. Clear of that all was great. Hopefully next year when I go home I will get the boat tour and the restaurant will be open. Keep up the great job other wise Love it there it so beautiful and clean even the restrooms...
