Heritage Park Field — Attraction in Mission

My friends and I like to joke that this is the only place to go in Mission. I'm only partly joking, but it's a genuinely nice park.

It's spacious, there's a big open field. It only feels crowded when there's an event taking place, which isn't too uncommon, actually. Ribfest is going on as I'm writing this. There isn't anywhere else in Mission you could really hold an event, anyway.

It's dog friendly. There's an off leash area, and there are dispensers for waste bags. The path is wide enough that you can keep your dog under control if another walks by.

There's a canteen, but it's stupid expensive; 2 scoops of ice cream will set you back $12. I think the gazebo is under some construction right now. There's a play area and a sand pit by the parking lot. There are restrooms, and they're usually clean and stocked.

I've seen bears, but I've been going to the park frequently for years, and I've only ever seen a few. They've always been far off, or in the bushes. I wouldn't recommend wandering around at...

Heritage Park is the best park in Mission for me to walk around to get fresh air and exercise. Even on its dreariest days, it is still a great walkabout. The landscape and forestry is vast and beautiful, and the gravel trails are consistent with the layout of the park. I even like the sight of the cemetery and garden beds that I pass by while walking.
