For the past few years, the Lakeview Farmers Market was a wonderful Sunday tradition. Great vendors, great prices, events and activities…it really was an amazing community experience. This year it seems there must have been a change in management. Dogs are no longer allowed, there is little change over of vendors (in speaking with a few, it seems it’s become an exclusive list and new vendors are rarely welcomed), and the prices have sky rocketed! There are significantly less vendors than past years and only a couple dealing in food/food related products. The majority of the vendors were selling purses, jewelry, and art. For context, in the past the building was packed; there a few such vendors but the majority were food related (groceries, hot food, pastries, packaged/frozen products) and always someone new trading their wares. Only disappointment was the coffee shop didn’t have any lactose free milk to offer which made us cut our...
Read moreToday was our first experience at the farmers market.
The lineup for parking backs up onto Lakeshore (we arrived at 10am) and was a battle to find a spot. When we left at 12pm, the parking situation was similar.
The initial outdoor space is a bit cramped and doesn’t have any shade. The main event is inside the building (dogs not allowed). There is also a very nice shaded outdoor area, but all the way at the other side of the building. It would be nice to have more seating available, there was not much. Also, if you are looking for child friendly activities…none offered.
Prices: Sausage $7, Empanada $6, Lemonade $6, Pierogis (x7), $11, Jerk Chicken Meal...
